Here’s an interesting little story about Kanye West trying to steal from the legendary Aphex Twin. It’s just something that I think more people should know about. There isn’t really a big ending or anything, but it is what it is.

Marvin Gaye's estate are notoriously litigious. I think the Blurred Lines case was a bunch of bullshit. Sure the song sounded similar when you broke it down, but the overall sound and feel of the song is completely different.

Bro I was listening to Drukqs by aphex twin and I heard Avril 14TH and I was like “blame game??” So I searched this up and I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed that.

So is there any evidence Kanye himself even knew about his and not just his producers? All we have is hearsay from RDJ and he's known to say crazy shit and lies in interviews.

Sampling can be a cool way to make new music from old Dilla and Dj shadow do it best but Kayne just nicks whole songs pretty much and raps over them its not subtle its terrible.

Him and aphex twin are creative in very different ways. Yeah they are. Aphex twin is a genius who can't be rivaled and kanye is a great example how mediocre artists rise to the top by pandering to the lowest common denominator.

I still struggle how to describe the genre that guys like Flying Lotus and Aphex Twin make. Another thing, it would be a helluva thing to see Ye ditch hip hop production & go whatever this production route is.

Kanye West refusing to pay any respect to Richard D James for his creation, and also Kayne saying that he would absolutely be the next president on Joe Rogan's podcast are just two of the reasons that I have absolutely no respect for the delusion piece of shit named Kanye West. Artist… sure. Human… fuck him.

you interrupt yourself w the pronunciation of Avril 14th and AFX weird track names…. when you should be playing the two records side by side so we can compare them. Not a great time for a tangent

Fun fact: the people who published the song "Xtal" by Aphex Twin didn't pay nor credit the song that Xtal sampled (it's a song called "Evil at play", and Richard sampled the female voice).

Just getting into Aphex Twin now and listened to Avril 14th, jaw dropped when the final 30 seconds of the song came in and I realised where I recognised it from lol. In retrospect Blame Game works way better with Avril 14th both as an interlude as an outro, gives it that good Runaway vibe.

Also obviously Kanye is a douchebag for trying to make it as though he wrote the piece of music originally.

Wow! I assumed all was in order and adore both tracks, but considering Kanye's exceptional levels of douche-baggery this is hardly a surprise. Shame on all others involved. He probably convinced them that it was justifiable on some warped racial premise, and this is coming from a black person. Blatant theivery by all accounts SMH
