Could you explain how Morrissey is a “racist”? You stated it as matter of fact, so I’m hoping you can present those facts (since I’m not familiar with them).

i wonder if you'll ever cover Gallows, the last genuinely violent-sounding band to chart.

When you said Led Zeppelin rip off band my first thought was Wolfmother although i don't hear the similarity except Wolfmother sounds like shite from day one.😊

Dude. I was drunk in Vienna visiting a friend. I got drunk and bought racecar is racecar backwards on vinyl for 300 quid. It's an album I always wanted and now I own. I'm so glad you love it.

What's Morrissey specifically done that's gotten him so reviled by primarily those on the Left? I've got mixed feelings about him and his work anyway, so I'm not approaching this as some diehard fan. Seems to me he's as pompous and conceited as he ever was.

I retrpspective of the the Stranglers would be very interesting, especially as we have lost the Great Dave Greenfield. They deserve tee proper place within Punk and beyound ans the influence the had.

Your videos are incredible ! Your research is meticulous . I lived through that era and you have educated me ! I listen to many genres (Kate Bush to Tommy Emmanuel , yes every American is not ignorant ) Sorry to beat my chest , this comment was intended to beat your chest . Keep up the great work ,and no requests as you do such a terrific job on your own subjects .

This past year there has been a great rebirth of UK post punk with Squid, Dry Cleaning, Black MIDI and Black Country New Road all putting out very good albums. To me this all came out of the blue with number of young, talented bands. Perhaps a "New British Canon" on Neo-Post Punk would be good.

I had that Supercharged album and wore it out. It definitely changed the kind of music I listened to. I ended up getting those Kerrang! compilation albums afterwards.

Racecar is Racecar Backwards? Lol. Exactly. Reuben is brilliant.

When the question about compilation albums came up I was literally thinking of the Super Charged compilation just before you said it. that was one of the first CDs I ever bought aged 11 and it was basically the alternative and rock starter pack! I wonder how many other people that CD was particularly formative for. I wonder if there's enough to say about it for a video lol.
*Edit – I wrote this before you mentioned the track list and it doesn't sound like the one I bought. After a quick Google turns out you had the 2002 edition and I had the 2005 one which was more poppier and had a bit of indie, more radio friendly stuff. Either way, I'm sure either of those CDs were quite formative for their respective musical generations.

Have you ever looked in to earlier music some of the 50 artist were incredibly radical in there day. How about the 60 rock bands or the early 70's pop bands like Slade, T-Rex etc. It's all good stuff when you look into it.

I have a genre/ music style suggestion. Sophistipop. Popular music from the UK that was from the mid to late 1980's. It's combination of jazz, new wave, r&b and pop. Artists like Sade, Simply Red, Swing Out Sister among others.👍

Soundcloud, tik tok, youtube and the ease of making music haven't taken away the advantage of having monetary backing, they've just reduced it a bit.

For 'rock is not dead' look at Japan. Band Maid, Wagakki Band, Baby Metal, Lovebites and Nemophila all playing huge stadiums. Plus there's a great scene in Africa with bands like Mdou Moctar. Maybe less rocks in the US/UK charts but still plenty of great acts going.

Rock isn’t dead. I don’t think it even can die. It just persists while other genres come and go. Sometimes in the forefront, sometimes in the background, but ever present.

It is really hard to talk about rock music. A bunch of hip hop is rock. Juice WRLD was a rockstar. x0 tour life is a rock song. Whenever rock comes from women or POC they have some other label. Like Olivia Rodrigo you mentioned

Have you ever considered covering Animal Collective's woefully brief moment in the spotlight?
@saldiven2009

Art should be separate from artist in one way. Good art is good even if the artist is a bad person. Bad art is bad even if the artist is a saint.
Learning about an artist as a person to have a greater understanding of their art is reasonable. But discrediting high quality art because the artist is just dumb, just like it is dumb to elevate mediocre or bad art just because the artist is a good person.

I think you need to introduce the rest of the world to Reuben. Heavily underrated and unknown band outside of the UK. I think you’d do a bang up job on a Rueben video.
