Clover County (Gems in the Rough top 10) playing “Virginia Slim” at the Jackalope Jamboree.
The Gems in the Rough contest was always a highlight of the year, and 2023 had Clover County in the top 10 (https://youtu.be/nPiMiEkVhtY?si=pLRNs1EQlqlxUPG1). Her video struck me as some great writing, especially for someone so young, and a soothing voice. She was someone to look out for and keep an eye on. Apparently i’m not the only one who thought so. I think some very busy people in the music world are keeping an eye on our videos lmao. She has been up to a lot in the past three years (crazy its been so long).
I got the chance to catch her set at the Jackalope Jamboree (https://www.jackalopejamboree.com/) in Oregon last year. It’s an awesome grass-roots festival, that really puts upcoming/younger artists on the bigger stage. They rule, and so does Clover County, so we recorded this one for Gems and are getting to put it out now. I love seeing people go from playing their bedroom sets to these stages, and Clover County is absolutely killing it right now. Keep an eye out for her coming to a town near you.
And go get tickets to the Jamboree, i’ll be there again this year!
