Jinx Lennon visits the Mary Walloper’s house in Dundalk, Ireland for GemsOnVHS.

The man, the myth, the legend, Jinx Lennon. He has been making “border schizo energy” (his term) interesting for a couple decades, and hasn’t slowed down. Seriously, he releases huge albums every year, some reaching 30+ tracks. It is some of the strangest yet alluring and catchy tunes i’ve ever heard. He is uniquely himself, with no parallel or equal. If I dare to compare, the only artist that comes to mind is Daniel Johnston. I’ve come to really appreciate his dense, inspiring discography, along with the leagues of Irish folks who know he is one of their best kept secrets. This song is called “We Don’t See Anything”.

The Mary Wallopers, Charles and Andrew, deemed to reveal a bit of the secret magic by inviting him over to the house to play one of his tunes for us. I didn’t know what the hell I was expecting, but it wasn’t this, and I was pleasantly surprised. This tune is quintessentially him, and very border energy. There with his young son in the Walloper’s kitchen, he belted this one out at my request.

Some songs I recommend to help you ease into the madness of a very large catalog;
1. The Newry Bird
2. Pregnancy Test Kits
3. City of Styrofoam Cups
4. We Dont See Anything
5. PROUD TO BE A NOBODY FROM CO. LOUTH

And shoutout to our Patreon supporters. If you think for a moment I could go to fucking Ireland and record any of this if it wasn’t for the few people who support me on there, you’re insane. This is literally the only way any of this becomes possible. Even $5 a month takes us further along the journey.
