Me: Misinterpreted title, thinking that this will be list of movies, that SAVED their genre halfway its existing and surprised SCREAM was not on it. Then reading comment and rereading title two more times to get it. 😂

Birthday Girl (2001) starring Nicole Kidman. Starts off as a weird quirky comedy, and turns into a thriller halfway through.

Missing: CLICK
It starts off as a stereotypical Adam Sandler comedy with gags and humor, but once the remote starts fast forwarding Sandler several years into his future, it becomes a serious drama with many tearjerker moments (ex: the 'I Love You Son' scene & the rain scene)

In the summer of 1984, I remember lots of people were bringing their kids to see a movie about cute little fantasy creatures called "Mogwai"…
By the time the mom was being attacked in her kitchen and fighting back by pushing the Gremlins into the blender, the oven, and the microwave, all the parents in the matinee theatre that I went to were asking themselves, "WHAT KIND OF A KID'S MOVIE IS THIS????"
