Excellent video as always, Jon! Thanks for taking the time to play & review Wee Ninja.
Fun fact: I wrote the title screen music and the *-4 "spooky" music too.

Lol, I get being excited about a new Lynx game, but I do question this timeline. Looks good, but man it is overtly Super Mario Bros (which I'm fine with). Pipes, the way the blocks work, overland/underworld, spinning hazards, cannons… I half expected the first boss to be a big spiky turtle-looking ninja. Looks great with the LCD grid shader, really captures the feel of the Lynx screen. Makes me a little sad I sold my Lynx, I didn't feel confident enough to re-screen it myself. Perhaps the rom is in my future.

I think Songbird and Blaze need to have a conversation about getting an Evercade cart released 🙂 Thanks for sharing Jon and keep up the awesome work!

I bought this game. Don’t let Nintendo see this.

Any chance there is a ROM we can purchase for the Lynx version?

How did they not get sued by copying Mario?

I have 3 Lynx units. Sadly, they all need repairs. 2 don't turn on anymore, and one works (sometimes).

I still have a working Lynx to this day and quite the collection of games, along with the original box, manuals, etc. The power adapter was a must as that thing went through batteries like a sailor going through rum! I know about how weird it felt to open a brand new Lynx game as I have bought Wyvern Tale from Songbird, some 30 years after the last time I bought a brand-new game, and was playing it on my Lynx. I wanted to find a Final Fantasy type game for the Lynx and that seems to be the only one in existence. Now, here we pretty much have a Super Mario Bros clone, and it has everything, including goombas, koopas, bullit bills, etc. I will admit that I am tempted to pick this up as it does look cool and does have enough to make it just unique instead of just being a blatant rip-off.. I also agree how awesome to have a Lynx+. My Lynx is old and who knows how long it will last. I'd love to play these games on something more modern with modern screen technology (the Lynx screen as awesome as it was back in the day, certainly shows it age compared to modern LCD displays), with rechargeable battery that last more than 2 hours, and be able to preserve my original Lynx. However, had this game been in existence 30 years ago, I can't help but think that Nintendo would've shut it down in a heartbeat! Look at what happened with the Ghana Sisters for the C-64!

Sadly my Atari Lynx was stolen a few years back , but when I had it the system was so much fun . If you currently have one there is Intro's that most don't see , because people start the game right away , but if you wait you'll get an intro screen before the game starts. I assume you could do it with emulation, but I've never tried it . Just like with the Atari Donkey Kong 8-Bit computer version that also gives you a cool intro.

The cartridge almost reminds me of cards used by the old Master System. The game looks fun, however never had a Lynx so I'll probably skip it.
You're right though seem like it was put together with Super Mario level creator, then reskinned and programed for the Lynx.

Why the lynx? Are they working on a 7800 version? How about a intellivision sprint version?

I will pick this up probably pretty soon, but I am peeved I missed out on the only 5200 run that was done.
