Remembering Ozzy Osbourne

Justin Hawkins Rides Again | September 10, 2026

I was really sad to hear the news last night that Ozzy Osbourne had died. There’s so much to say about his work and his legacy. I haven’t been able to do that here, but I have tried to talk about his life and my memories of a man who was an inspiration.

I mention an article by my favourite music critic, Alexis Pertridis, which can be found here:

Honestly it's the musicians around him that made Ozzy. Most of whom were living One Step Above being homeless the whole time they worked for them. I don't think that Osborne's business practices are the best and also think that Sharon is disgusting and looks completely crazy with the plastic surgery

I love you Justin! You are amazing. Your critique on other artists are always spot-on and you're just a joy to watch. I love the theme song. Seeing you dedicate your show to Ozzy is amazing. I'm sure he was a fan of yours, being as unique as you are. Keep putting out content and I'll keep watching. The theme song has grown on me, your music has grown on me and I just think you're amazing. A great bloke, is that what they say, bloke or is that negative? I have no clue, I'm from Boston and we just dropped syllables left and right so we have our own language I guess. Thank you again for all that you do! You truly are awesome

I'm not a metal fan as such. As I've got older I definitely appreciate it. I wish, I really wish I truly understood how fucking massive Ozzy Osbourne really was. I've binged a load of his stuff and he really was an unbelievable man. He lived 20 lives in his 75 odd years. I always thought most rock music was moulded by people like John Lennon and such, but from what I know now, Ozzy really did change everything with his band mates. Hats off to a legend. Rest in peace John. I will be a fan for the rest of my life. As Liam Gallagher would say, this one's called LIVE FOREVER

Justin, my girlfriend and I are having a debate and I was wondering if you could help settle
It. I say that there are not many professional vocalists that can reach the high falsetto range that you can. She argues Adam lambert…would y’all have a sing off to see who can reach the highest notes?

I got to see him a couple of times in concert, he was great! The funny thing was it did not matter who was opening, the crowd would chant "OZZY, OZZY, OZZY" over them. One opening band was Suicidal Tendencies (I think). I felt bad for them. Now that I am much older, I think they were just grateful to have a gig with Ozzy back then!
