You guys really not realize he’s a communist? He literally quoted the communist manifesto when he said he believes in “the abolition of private property”

@20:15, "pointing at Trump and saying, 'wow, look how bad he is. Vote for me instead.' Only gets Dems so far."
You ain't lying! It's absolutely nuts that Dems are still refusing to change at all. They completely ignore voters, but tell us to, "vOte BlUE nO MAtTer WhO," and got pissy when they lost the election.
Felt like a spoiled brat attempting extortion

17:14 to them it absolutely is a socialist revolution. About a month ago, the creator of Quest nutrition, Tom Bilyeu, uploaded a video on his YouTube page titled “This Is How New York Will Collapse.” The entire 12 minute video is nothing more than a rich man yelling into the ether about how Zoran Mamdani’s was the sign of the end times for the United States. He then goes onto compare socialist countries that collapsed, completely omitting the hand that the United States played in those collapses, and explains that this is what will happen to the United States if we allow this slippery slope to begin.

I watched a video from Jesse Dollemore about Mamdani's victory speech. Mamdani used the word "I" a total of FOUR times. The rest of the time, he used the words "Us" and "We". It's small, but it is significant. He never made his win solely about him.

I'm a New Yorker, and I am proud to have casted my vote for Zohran Kwame Mamdani. I was at work the night that he won, and I think I smiled from ear to ear all night. We were so sick and tired of Cuomo, having had him as governor in this state. And Trump endorsing him made Cuomo pretty much toxic in this city. I can't wait to see what Zohran will work to get accomplished in these next few years.

@22:06 it's not just ww2, it's also the issue of race in America. Universal healthcare was proposed by the Truman administration but white people shut it down because they didn't want black people to also have access. You see these same attitudes with things like SNAP or other programs. SNAP was originally created to benefit poor white west virginians but it became a problem when black people also started benefiting from it. America is a society where some white people are willing to shoot themselves in the foot as long as minorities have nothing or get it worse. It's why we are so far behind.

There's a difference between strategic compromise and compromising one's values. Our global economy is dominated by billionaires and capitalism, it's not going to be thrust out by force or by radical sounding statements. Mamdani walked back on some of his more radical talking points but that doesn't mean he's caved. What he needs now is a unified movement behind him. We forget that it's unity, not ideological purity, that fuels this movement. If we descend into petty bickering instead of coming together to support him we're asking for failure.

As long as you refuse to see that there are legit reasons why prople turn away from the democratic party, youll remain oblivious and confused.

The thing that Mamdani did well with his platform is exactly what voters have been screaming at Democrats for years now: be FOR something, not just against Trump. Mamdani gave people something to WANT.

Took me a literal hour to research every single candidate for the recent elections. I did it in my car before voting started and went in well informed that our (NJ) Democratic candidate would just be more of the same with hollow promises and that our best option wasn't a member of the two big parties. He did not win, and i don't have a single doubt that it was only because everyone voting just picked based on if they were for or against trump, for or against republicans, rather than taking that one hour out of their life to so much as skim those candidates websites. People need to hear how easy it is to research again, to hear that they aren't stupid and to be reminded that shouldn't rely on other people to make their decisions. Not if we want things to actually improve

Just a slight nitpick- Sadiq Khan has been mayor of London since 2016. It's been 9 years and we're still waiting for Sharia law to be enforced. Either Khan is more inefficient than even Bojo the Clown or the right wing loonies are just racist.

tbh ive been a long time listener on the fence, before this shutdown i planned on registering as a dem. trump is stupid and you had me hook line and sinker. ive now realized that the the extremes of both parties are out of touch brainwashed idiots who gobble up the spoon fed bull crap that their tik tok algorithms ram down their throat, if you're a socialist progressive, or a alt right extremist then you are a moron who lacks upper brain function. You are the same threat to democracy. As the opposite side if the aisle you claim to hate. This Culture war is stupid. You are all hypocrites who care about being in control and have no regard for anyone other than themselves. if youre reading this clutching your pearls. Your friends and family dont like you. They think youre obnoxious and preachy. i have a feeling that like 60 percent of the nation feel like kids tied up in a nasty divorce watching their dad become a raging alcoholic and their mom a preachy karen completely out touch. I hate it here

I disagree with a lot of Mamdani's policies and don't think his term as mayor will work out but despite not being in NYC I hope I'm wrong and hope all of his goals benefit the residents

Thank you for this. I appreciate you bringing your expertise in law to explain exactly HOW it's so bad. I feel like so many of us KNOW its so bad, but we lack the law degree to truly understand the mechanics behind it all. Someone needs to say what we're all feeling. Youre doing the good work and fighting the good fight. I know if i were ever to get into something like politics, i would want someone like you on my legal council. It's truly heartwarming to know people like you exist. Keep shining and educating! ❤

Now is the time for a US constitutional renaissance based on the original document, and, the context in which the Declaration of Independence (DOI) and the Articles of Confederation (AOC) provide. The DOI shows where polity must not go, and the AOC show what the Constitution must improve upon, not violate. In this context, the Amendments are made superfluous at best. IE Article One Section Eight makes the 2nd Amendment a non sequitur because Section One describes a constitutionally correct militia; how its organized, disciplined and under whose direction it must follow. The Second Amendment itself ought to be used as an English lesson. Its verb phrase, shall not be infringed, applies to its subject; but is it a right to bear arms or a well regulated militia? People argue about the document because instead of reading it in its proper context, most Americans are descendants of partisan immigrants; they seem to have brought the tyranny they were fleeing from with them. Instead of defending the written Constitution, partisans put up their banners and attack.

14:30 "Progressives have been begging the democrats to talk about affordability for a long time" story of the last nearly 100 years or so, and the last time a democrat actually listened to them congress amended the constitution because he got elected president too many times. I am convinced the democratic party is addicted to losing lol

Now you have to realize that the establishment has already abandoned New York City that's why they allowed that win.
And they are going to be quick to blame his socialist position at the first sign of decline, the first spike in crime. The first failed project, which all of it will most likely be manufactured by those that donated to Cuomo.
He needs to be in the street every day uniting people to work together as a community so they don't need the rich elites that the establishment catered to in the past.
