Jeff Bezos Gets a Strike for Christmas

Josh Johnson | November 16, 2025

Just announced the first half of my 2025 tour! Check out https://joshjohnsoncomedy.com/tour for dates and to sign up for the waitlist to be notified when I’m performing in your city.

Hi Friends,

This week I wanted to share my thoughts on the Amazon strike and general bad gift giving.

Amazon workers along with teamsters kicked off a strike against the mega corporation in the lead up to the holiday season.

Amazon started as an online bookseller and in the decades since expanded to an everything seller.

Amazon and its prime membership is responsible for revolutionizing gift giving, shipping, and customer expectations as well as worker productivity and safety.

Workers have been organizing for days in what is their time of year with the most leverage. We will see what results can come because it all depends on how it impacts consumers and if the narrative around their fight can be adopted by the general public.

If you love my stories I have a podcast that comes out every week: https://bit.ly/3NQmpio

    I’ve had 0 unique experiences 🤣

I was 7 and decided everyone in my family needed their own picture book. So I used my grandmas computer and COLOR PRINTER to make everyone a “book” on their favorite subject/item they collect. Like my grandma got angels, my great grandma hummingbirds, my dad UK Basketball, etc. printed them out and stapled them together on the short side to make it have turntable pages. I put them into the cardboard gift boxes and wrapped them. And everyone opened them Christmas morning. My great grandma and grandma giggled over how I’d written how “Beatiful” hummingbirds were 😂 but I was SO PROUD of it and still remember it to this day lol sooo at least you didn’t waste your grandmas printer ink lmao

    Listening to the cat story.

The first mistake was boxing a full grown cat in a box like that.

The second was trying to grab the cat when it didn't even know her.

The third was grabbing an unsocialised street cats. Cats need to be made used to humans, let alone litter trained and everything. This person got a cat that only altruistic people who want to go through the work of turning a wild, scared animal into a content housepet get for someone who may not have even owned a cat before.

The weight story cracked me up.. and gave me a memory. The Christmas after my first daughter was born (SHE WAS BORN IN LATE OCTOBER) my husband gave me a bunch of sexy nighties, bras and pant. I 100 percent gave him the “oh, um, ok” type of comment, then he filled in the space with “you know, to motivate you to get your shape back” I can laugh about it now…maybe because we have been divorced for decades. Those days, “getting body back in shape” was easy for my 26 year old self, but I don’t think I ever wore any of that in my life, because, three months later, as soon as I was back in shape, I became pregnant with my son.

I try to give people things I've heard they need or want, like once I got my friend a mousepad cause they had just complained to me that they don't have one lol

Never gift someone a pet unless they ask. However …. Feral cats are extremely rewarding to tame. Obviously a feral shouldn't be anyone's first cat lol, but …. Neither should a kitten, for that matter. If you know nothing about cats why should you be raising a helpless one?

Back when I was newly married I had several health issues so we didnt have much money (come to find out my now ex had money to spend on other women but anyways). My mom always got extra gifts and would put my name on something to everyone. Sometimes she would tell me when she did it, sometimes I was just surprised when someone thanked me for a gift lol. She did the same after I got divorced and I was beyond broke and living with them to save money. We all knew I didnt buy the gifts but we all pretended because it made her happy that I got to give people stuff. Love my mom. Now that I'm financially secure I get flowers delivered to her every couple of months just because I can.

people really think they can treat cats like objects 😒 like the cat was stressed out and given no time to settle into a new environment, of course they were aggressive. you should always give a cat time and space when they first come into a new home.

At 26:00… ponder this… In 2021, Amazon forced warehouse workers in Edwardsville, Illinois to continue working despite radar confirmation of an EF-3 tornado within miles of the facility. The tornado hit the building, destroying 1.1 million sf of "contents" and killing six workers. Amazon treated the incident and workers affected like a dirty baby diaper, holding the entire response at arm's length and reiterating the facility was leased space.

Amazon screwed up my order, sent me the totally wrong product and then expected me to pay for their mistake. I have never shopped with them since and do not ever plan to give them another penny. Their customer service is horrible. They honestly wouldn't have any power or success if it was up to me. They treat their employees like shit and their employees treated me like shit so I hope they go down like the dumpster fire they are.
