How To Stop Overthinking Everything – 6 Ways To Quiet The Mind

Pursuit of Wonder | February 1, 2026

Overthinking is certainly a double edged sword. On one side, it can be very unpleasant and debilitating. But on the other, it can be useful to push our questions, concerns, and thoughts to the extreme in pursuit of improvement and understanding. To find the balance, we must allow overthinking to exist in our life, but remain in control of the thinking process so we can inhibit any negative side effects. In this video, we explain 6 simple ways to more easily find this sweet spot.

Wonderful video! Stopping an overthinking habit is not easy at all. It's not possible to feel well if we haven't first learned what made us feel bad in the first place, and only if we know how to get the best out of our experiences we will be able to feel fine. Let me know your thoughts in the video I made about this topic: https://youtu.be/6Vm5zezHevI

meditation surely helps. there is this process called cleaning, where you sit down and relax all your muscles, and slowly let all your tensions, stress etc..go into thin air from the back of your body, which helps you calm down instantly.

    1. When i write it down, the thought itself becomes different as i know, and simultaneously overthink about, how someone may find this document.
    2. I overthink because i dont talk to people.

What even is overthinking? do I do it? should i be worried about it? how would i find out that I do it? is there a test? should i just go about my life, then when if find myself thinking about something too much, realise that im overthinking? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!

About meditation – one of the easiest and more calming is slow walking meditation – you just put your toe in front of your other toe, ~2 seconds per step and ~1 second delay between steps. You just breathe and step. and think about stepping at the beginning, if you cannot stop thinking. Don't forget to set up timer to not be distracted by thoughts about time, 10-15 minutes at the beginning.
