The Quiet is a song the comes from that place no one ever wants to know. This song is Hayden sitting with the kind of loss that leaves the world unfamiliar. The death of his sister’s first child at just five weeks old brought a silence that couldn’t be filled, only felt. Hayden wrote this song in an attempt to pick up where words fail, tracing the impossibility of grief as it latches on and changes everything around it.

Like life at times, there is no reckoning here. The Quiet is an attempt at coming to terms with sorrow, love, and the instinct to keep reaching for light even when it feels unimaginably far away. Hayden holds space for the ache, for the questions with no answers, and for the fragile hope that survives because it has to.

This is a song for anyone who has stood in the aftermath of loss and learned how loud silence can be.

We love you.

Lyrics:
Never thought I would end up here
And come face to face with what I fear
The clock keeps ticking slow and true
But time don’t mean a thing to you

If love is a river, you were the rain
Falling down on hearts that won’t be the same
There’s so much I just can’t explain
And it hurts so bad to hear your name

Some songs are sung, some don’t begin
Some doors swing open then close again
The waters deep and the currents strong
But love don’t drown it just rolls on

I’ll bury the dreams I once planned
That were ripped away from my hands
There ain’t no ends to what I’d do
Just to sing ā€œMr. Golden Sunā€ to you

Some roads are straight, some roads bend
Some will break your heart and never end
There ain’t no reason, ain’t no rhyme
For yesterday is burned in my mind

No preachers words, no poets lines
Can fill the space you left behind
But if your lights a thread that won’t unweave
Maybe you aren’t so far from me

The waters deep and the currents strong
But love don’t drown it just rolls on
Yeah love don’t drown it just rolls on

Sometimes music just finds you when you need it. Been told my son wouldnt live to adulthood. His condition has been up and down since birth. He suffers a lot but never suffers alone. Ffs its hard sometimes. When the time comes and lord please may it not come soon I hope and pray I am strong enough to carry on the beauty and love that he brings to this world every day he is here. To my fellow parents in similar situations you are not alone. May the light and love in your heart never fade and your strenght carry you through. Our kids needs us as much as we need them. If their time here may be short may it be as good as can be. Lord help us carry that love and light they bring to us into each day so that we may continue to spread that love and joy.

As an uncle of six, I think your nephew couldn't have deserved a better song dedicated to him. Too bad he didn't live to learn what a remarkable and loving uncle he had.

My God, he sounds like Ryan Bingham! So genuine and sincere.

It's a great song, and I'm so sorry for your loss. But, as we know, things like this song aren't born without effort and pain. Thank you for it; I've listened to it four times.

Western AF, I take my hat off to your work. You, like the Gran Ole Opry of its time, are becoming the "right" springboard for true artists. This is invaluable; I appreciate every video that you post.

From a kind cowboy's heart straight from Russia – respect.

Jus got reminded of my brother, he too lost his son at just ten days old..
The fact my son carries on my nephews name is a blessing.
May all the little angels watch over us..
    Heartfelt song…
