Are the creative juices still there though? I mean, they were at their climax pretty quick with Appetite and Illusion. Could they do it again some 33 years later? Even get close? It happens to everyone… it’s not like Bob Dylan had another Blowin in the Wind, although Time Out of Mind was close and a masterpiece imop. Anyway, I’d be happy if GnR (please) ditch the CD leftovers and go back to some Appetite-like hard songs. Maybe even leave Dizzy temporarily by the wayside, though it’s not as if we hear him anyway. I personally think that if we are lucky enough to get another GnR album it’d be YEARS away. I don’t think Axl’s process in the recording and producing booth is too efficient, even though it worked magically in the 80’s.

It’s sad, but I believe Axl blew his voice out on the AC/DC run because he sang so hard. He even stated a person could ruin their career if they’re not careful trying to sing those songs. I think he can still sound like his old voice in the studio, raw, powerful, he just shouldn’t do it night after night. When he’s on tour he has to try to save his voice otherwise they’d have to cancel shows. Album wise, everyone wants a new album, but, what do want them to sing about? Being in their sixties and being pissed off, still? Axl is starting to voice political opinions (which he criticized Iron Maiden for doing). Hopefully they still have some passion about something they can write about and still connect with the fans. Cheers to Guns N’ Roses!

We all know the delay is down to Axl.
Talk about reluctant to get into a recording studio. If it does happen we’re looking at 5 years at least because it’s a pathetic joke. I’m sick of it man. I’m a proper fan and extremely frustrated.

I think at this point get Max Martin to help write a few songs like Bon Jovi did with It’s My Life. I don’t think guns on their own will come up with something as powerful like the old records without help. Izzy ain’t coming back

As i absolutely HATE "Chinese Democracy " and the latest 4 songs also the 1999 Oh My God, so the next album better have Axl singing raspy like he did with AC/DC 2016 i dont have high hopes for the next album what so ever i love the band from 1985-1996 when they broke up then Axl did the 1999 Oh My God song EEEEEEEEEEWwww and the industrial style Chinese Democracy have and the song there after YACH Axl sounds like Mickey Mouse no good anymore, no i dont expect Appetite For Destruction 2 just a great album from where they left off a rock album oh i love Lies, mostly the 4 acoustic not the life E.P that the four acoustic were added on i now kinda like Spaghetti Indecent at first i hated it sympathy for the devil good cover from there fast down hill glad i saw Guns N´Roses in 1993

I saw GnR in 87/88 with Maiden when Welcome to the Jungle just came out but was played on metal radio at the time late at night. Loved it! Even saw them with Metaliica/ FnM during that Montreal disaster show… I just feel GnR after the first record lost their punk/raw sleaze sound. I listen to Use your Illusions stuff but really its not my thing its all over the map. But Appetite man that's a solid crunch record maybe of all time. They need Izzy back to start. as Duff cannot do it alone LOL.

They’re all alive and well. It’s a crime that they can’t get together. Getting Izzy back to write, Slash riffing over his chord progressions and working out some back to basics hard rock… they’d be brilliant.
Slash’s band is fine but it’s like what the Freddie character said in the Queen movie, there’s no friction, no push n’ pull.
I saw them not long ago, Anastasia aside… every song structure was the same and it got a little boring after a while.
I just don’t understand the problem. Green Day, Chili Peppers, Metallica, etc .. huge bands making records. Why have GNR made it so difficult?

Guru, this feels like a privilege to have so much content! Here's an idea, how about an episode where you talk about the best 21st century hair metal bands albums. H.E.A.T., Diemonds, Steel Panther, Crazy Lixx, The Darkness etc.

That must be why I haven't liked any of those new tracks. Chinese Democracy sucked, other than one or two songs, and they weren't anything special. I wouldn't pay to see them these days. I'd rather see Steven Adler's band. At least they sound like GNR. I saw them back in 1991 with Skidrow in Dallas. I care nothing about paying money to see what they've become, and play the same old songs. Oh well, it's not that important at the end of the day. Just a nice distraction.

Hard School was written in the early years, so it sounds like old school GnR, but there is a reason it never made it to an album. It’s a total B side. You also forgot to mention Shadow of Your Love, an old song written during the Hollywood Rose years they released along with the other four you mentioned.

i doubt you will see a full fledged ode to appetite style album. it will be a product of what they live, which hardly identifies with what they were living in 1987.
if i had to guess, it will be a meld of chinese democracy, and the elton john style that they have had in songs like perhaps, and estranged.

I think Guns have a great debut. Use ur illusion records had too much as their egos were sky high. I saw them live with Metallica and Faith no More in 92 and Guns was by far the worst. So to me they weren't good live then so why now.
