So, my wife and I were late to the party but over the last few weeks we watched all 4 seasons and just finished the last episode. One thing I will say. I always thought it was a mistake for Ruth to mention to Mel about Ben and goats while a missing Ben's ashes sat right there in a goat DYI urn. I suppose it was necessary to arrive at the ending but not the best play on Ruth's part. Ruth was young and inexperienced in this show but for the most part she was not dumb. But, mentioning Ben wanting goats at that particular time was not a smart move IMO.

I’ve found a bit of a plot hole though. Marty needed Ruth to be alive to continue to launder through the casino in his absence. Now that Ruth is dead, who will launder the money? Does that not mean that Marty would need to stay?

I just found this series on Netflix and watched it to the end. Very good. Except, I hated that Ruth died. Hated that Marty and Wendy didn't protect her. She killed her uncle to save him. Wyatt protected his son from a bully in school and got speiled and he did nothing . Marty and Wendy were the heavy duty criminals and got away, Ruth was loyal to them

Only thing i didnt like is if you shoot a gun off in a motel room its not going to break a glass and stop. That bullets is traveling through multiple rooms unless it hits someone must of been a bb gun strong enough to shatter the glass but stop right there

I honestly thought Marty was going to have Omar dealt with and then call the number he provided and have Camila dealt with too. And Marty keep running the cartel since he was introduced and in charge of it already. And idk why I hoped for Ben to just pop up almost at the end since they just burned a body they didnt show him

Ozark is a stark view of the American Dream. But is it as far-fetched and fictional as most people think? I don't think so. I think that in the private world of the rich and powerful, the story of the Byrde family would be a very relateable one. And that characters and stories like this are very real and do happen in the high stakes, hushed up secret world of so called 'high society' where outside appearances mean everything and 'success', 'happiness' and 'power' are measured by ruthlessness and the ability to keep a lid on it.

I just got around to watching "Ozark" in 2025. Pretty late to the party. Can't believe that the writers couldn't come up with a better ending than a black screen. "The Sopranos" set the bar for that one.The Ozark writers were just lazy, I guess, and wanted to get the whole thing over with. Very disappointing that it all ended in such a sloppy way.

It became utter ridiculous how the Byrdes managed to stay alive and avoid getting whacked 10 times or more. The series should have ended with S3 – S4 was just 14 episodes of plot twists and bizarre character alliances.

We came to Ozark late but glad we did. I knew Jonah was eventually going to use that shotgun on someone. Too bad it had to be on Mel. After reading the comments I have to agree on it feeling rushed. I could have sat through another season of 8 or 10 episodes.

they should'v sided with Omar, had he won he would've granted them their freedom and Ruth would've lived since Omar didn't care about Javi to even ask about his death since he thought Javi was a danger to him before.

    The ending we all expected:

Wendy died by the hand of the Cartel
Marty is left with his daughter that loves him.
And jonah who expects his dad and sister to double cross him at any second.

Ben deserved to die. Terrible i know. But he earned it. I mean come on. We all rooted for him. But dude fawked up beyond repair. Wendy is pure evil. But she is smart. And she loves her family. Bad combination

Thank you for the breakdown you just saved me some great amount of time because after season 2 for me the story went downhill….i don't think i would have committed to season 3 & 4 ……in terms of ratings id give it a 7.5 because of the 1st 2 seasons, definitely not 8 material

Ozark is the #1 best TV show I've ever watched, in my entire life. Every single cast member did such an outstanding job with their performance.

The amount of emotions that Ozark made me feel throughout the series is unprecedented for TV shows. I'm so glad I decided to watch it.

This show made the Byrdes so downright awful that the writers completely misjudged the audience's loyalty by the end. No one was rooting for the Byrdes. We were rooting for Ruth.

In my mind, even though they may have made it out I still have the feeling that it was continue follow the Byrds regardless. They will always have some criminal tendencies and sooner or later they will have to deal with the consequences of karma.

I just finished watching a few minutes ago. These shows and movies are always showing us exactly how our world works. The technology that seems far fetched, the corruption that seems grandiose, the evil leading the way…earth is Satans realm, always has been. All we can do is make the most of this life, be the best humans we can be, and hope we did good enough to make it to eternal life with the good Father.

The ending was just as bad as the entire second half of season 4. This show outlasted it's usefulness for it's own good. Marty, Wendy, and Ruth's characters had become too redundant. I never thought I would have stated that when pertaining to Ruth. She was by far my favorite character, but enough had become enough long before the final episode.

The ending really pissed me off. I felt really bad for Mel. The moment I saw that approving smirk from Marty and Wendy and the moment Jonah pulled that trigger to kill Mel, my sympathetic feelings toward the Byrde’s eroded. Mel refusing the Byrde’s bribe made me even respect him even more. I would have done the same thing. Even if that meant not living to see another day.

Loved Ruth, but her downfall was her own doing. She could have used the Byrdes to rise above her trailer life just as they used her to accomplish their goals. Her unchecked anger/emotions let the Langmore curse catch up to her.
