You don't get a strike automatically after appealing, you still have a choice to re edit a video or take it down. If they gave a strike after a first warning and appeal every music based channel would be gone.

I think WE need to leave YouTube. Artists, audience. All of us. To show our disdain. What is a good video/audio social media with comments that isn't purposefully addictive etc? Vimeo or something that could have a larger audience?

Greedy f***in lawyers! Artists need to intervene and suggest record companies back off. May not help but worth a try.

YouTube is losing its way. Someone needs to set up a new platform…YT would soon change their mind.

Universal Music Group (UMG) is attempting to falsely file copyright claims against reviewers who have youtube channels that are exercising fair use of UMG's music catalogue to create music reviews that raise awareness for new audiences to deepen an appreciation of UMG's catalogue of music. The UMG copyright claims fail to consider the fair use criteria that youtube reviewer's use when reviewing UMG's catalogue of music. UMG allegedly incorporates bots and artificial intelligence to induce the false copyright claims on youtube reviewers (Elizabeth Zharoff, The Charismatic Voice; Doug Helvering; Justin Hawkins, Justin Hawkins Rides Again; Rick Beato; Davie504; and thousands of others) in order to remove reviewers from youtube. Please fix the copyright claim that is falsely accusing music reviewers on youtube because it is causing immense unnecessary administrative burden for reviewers to educate youtube and UMG of how to assess the correct application of fair use.

I'm pretty sure they use some automated systems (khm, khm AI) for this. I can understand this if someone put a famous song as a background music for some random theme, but when you talk about music, promote it in a best possible way and transparently play a snippet of it – this really doesn't make any sense.

Just listening to your Rick Beato ; you mention your love of The Stones . I am a life long fan too , but shamefully I’ve only got into ‘Tattoo You ‘ the last few years . I would say it has gone straight into my top 3 Stones album ; some absolutely fantastic tracks on it . I wonder if it’s passed you by or you’re a fan ? Cheers Mate

It's good that professional musicians/producers and other creatives stand up against these practices. Maybe one day it will make a positive change, who knows.
