The Bon Jovi Situation Takes a Surprising Turn
Jon Bon Jovi is finally speaking out after years of silence.
After undergoing major vocal cord surgery that nearly ended his career, the legendary frontman has officially announced his comeback — the “Forever” tour — marking his first full run of shows since the surgery that left fans wondering if they’d ever hear his voice again.
But not everyone’s celebrating. Rumors of a long-awaited reunion with Richie Sambora have been circulating ever since the Thank You, Goodnight documentary, and now new reports claim it’s never going to happen.

He needs to admit he’s done. I know it’s hard but he’s had a long run. He shouldn’t take people’s money knowing he can’t serve a proper performance.
Knowing when to leave is just good manners. Wish him the best.

Jon is also a producer for his act. He decides how the money gets distributed, in part. If you started a job as a welder and halfway through the job you were being paid as a janitor, what would you finish out the job or move on? The same thing happened with Sebastian Bach in Skid Row.

He has enough of a voice to trash our current president.

The surgery didn’t work. The guy cannot sing. If people want to pay for his crappy voice with backing tracks have at it. I will listen to the old stuff instead

Did you see Richie's recent performance of "Livin' On a Prayer" with Sammy Hagar, Orianthi, and Phil X (yes, Phil X)? Even though Richie co-wrote the song, he completely botched the guitar solo (which he's played hundreds of times) and the key change. Phil X had to jump in there and help out. Based upon seeing that performance, it doesn't seem that Richie is up to the task. To be honest (and I love Bon Jovi), Phil X and John Shanks are much better right now.

My god man quit saying his voice is back or that he recovered it's still absolutely horrible there's three songs been released and he might be worse than ever

His voice is NOT back … Richie should stay away it's going to be an embarrassment

Fans STILL begging for Richie back as if he didn’t chose to leave and they don’t have literal gears of content witb him before then, including solo work.
He’s not coming back at this point. He chose to leave. Accept it and move on.

Jon's voice hasn't been right for a long time. He simply can't hit the same notes any longer. It happens a lot with singers who have been straining for high octaves for a while. It's just another part of aging.
But the ticket prices sure haven't changed, right?
@jefflep1
February 17, 2026 at 3:30 pm
Let’s be clear… we know why he’s not there. He was pushed out a little bit at a time as the band sound, direction , and presentation simply was not what it once was, and you work for Jon. They were no longer partner, and Richie could not accept being a hired gun playing the music they were now making.
@guillermodelnoche
February 17, 2026 at 3:30 pm
Richie was an absolute mess in the recent Billy Corgan interview. I highly doubt he has his stuff together enough to tour on a fully professional level.

February 17, 2026 at 3:30 pm
What should upset people/fans of Bon Jovi is Jon went out and played shows knowing full well that his voice was shot and he could not sing. But yet he played the shows anyway and had his fans pay exorbitant amount of money on ticket prices. He doesn't/didn't need the money, so it came across as a big F-U to Bon Jovi fans. Pretty piss poor

Jon has always been about loyalty to the brotherhood of the band. So for Richie to leave without saying anything and putting the band at risk is considered a betrayal. If Richie had gone to Jon and said "hey dude I need to leave for awhile because I need to be with my family"; then we wouldn't be in this position today. But to leave and not say anything at all speaks volumes. Believe me, I wish, as all fans do, that Richie could be part of this "Forever Tour"but we all know Jon too well and loyalty is a big big deal to him!

February 17, 2026 at 3:30 pm
Yeah sorry no. No I don't need Richie back anymore would it be a cool thing to see. Four or five of the original members sure. But with some new hoodie and the Blowfish looking guitar player and John Longshanks or whoever that he is and I don't know how many different people there are in the band now it's just a weird hodgepodge of an adult contemporary band now. Richie wouldn't fit in Richie having a quality singing voice and being a scale guitar player just he just wouldn't fit in. I'm sorry John's ego just won't allowed the good looking Rich he is and he probably still has a halfway decent voice I'm sorry he just wouldn't want him to show up
Besides that other want to be guitar player In the back Long Shanks would be upset because he'd think wait a minute I thought I was supposed to be the new guitar player I'm the co-producer co-writer I forced my way in and remember the band now Period dork. Dork dork dork..

THESE shows will show if it can go on. Sambora is GONE. Period.

February 17, 2026 at 3:30 pm
Sounds like this dude deserves better fans. They dont give a F about him. All i see is bitchy snidey comments about how he is nothing without Ritchie. The guy left. He chose to go. He deserted and hurt his bandmates. If the fans care more about him that Jon Bon Jovi himself, then call yourself Ritchie fans, not Bon Jovi fans.

Ritchie Sambora Should Want to Reunite With The Band and Should Break His Silence To His FANS
@marc176
February 17, 2026 at 3:30 pm
I never believed that Richie would join the band when they are touring an album he wasn't involved with. If they did a farewell tour that wasn't tied to an album he had nothing to do with, I could see there being a possibility. I think there are some conditions too… IMO, I don't think Richie has an issue playing with Phil. I don't think he wants to be around John Shanks, who basically took his place being the writing and musical partner to Jon. But… who knows.

It’s sad. Saw him several times in the 80s and 90s, people need to know when it’s time to retire
He is far passed that point, it’s sad, but his voice has been shot out for years

It’s very mortifying that there isn’t no reunion with Richie Sambora, really pissed me not just me, but to everyone and those who are affected by no reunion with Richie, I feel for you guys trust me and we’ll never know if a reunion is gonna happen and now what we feel now is fuckin heartbreak💔

That’s BS , Richie is coming back , we asked him last week Friday , who you going to drop in the band to bring Richie back – he asked who would you drop – I told him shanks , he said that’s the only choice.
John needs Richie

After watching 'Thank You, Goodnight', I made a peace with myself that Richie will never return, even for one-off one song performance at any stage. All 80s and 90s kids should let it go. We will not get the old Bon Jovi, or Jon's younger voice, back. We should listen to our old records we have, or searching for old videos in YouTube for the sake of good old days.

He still can’t perform vocally, even at a drop key level. It’s not fair to the fans, playing the high ticket prices for a subpar Bon Jovi without Richie also

If Richie does not comeback even for one show he will go to his death bed regretting it. You only walk this world once and the chance to play for the last time for your fans and for yourself amy never come around again. What a shame.

They were untouchable in 1995, one of the best shows I ever saw. The last good tour was The Circle. They did a residency at the O2 Arena in London, playing 3 hours a night. By the time the 2013 tour started with Richie quitting hours before it started, they were the JBJ solo project, really watered down and middle of the road music, no bite, which is one of the reasons Richie walked. Fact is, there’s no room for Richie in the line up. The only was he would return would have been a greatest hits tour focussed on 1984 to 2000 material.

It's truly not Bon Jovi without Richie Sambora – it's merely 'some other band'. It would be like if years ago, the three remaining Beatles got together and decided to go on tour, with a replacement for John Lennon. That idea was floated, and Paul McCartney said "There could never be a Beatles reunion without John. It would merely be some other band". And such is the case with Bon Jovi. Replace Richie Sambora? Then Bon Jovi merely becomes 'some other band'. And on Jon's voice: after having damaged his vocal cords, AND coupled with his age, there is no 'coming back'. Oh, he might last for a bit, but no way his vocal cords hold-up for an entire tour. It is completely natural to lose A LOT of vocal ability when you get older, and I'm talking about vocalist that have NEVER had vocal cord issues / surgery. I promise you: no way Bon Jovi sings anywhere near what he used to. We'll see! Honestly, I hope he proves me wrong! I know I won't be paying big ticket, asking prices, to go see him! His best days are WAY behind him!
