Seedless Watermelon Kim (씨없는수박) plays the blues, double feature in Seoul for GemsOnVHS™

We’re going international today. There was a clip I posted of Seedless Watermelon Kim here playing slide guitar in a Korean BBQ place after hours, using his empty shot glass as said slide. It went very viral. Many of the comments I couldn’t understand, even with translation, but the general sentiment was loud and clear. This dude is a cool unc. I tend to agree, Mr. Watermelon Kim is aura personified. He has rizz and swagger like no other, in his full blown suit and tie. He is a fine personifaction of the Blues.

Couldn’t of done this without Seth Mountain, the Washington born, Seoul based songwriter, activist and folk song machine that helped me set this whole trip up. I stayed with him and his wife, Nan Young, and we spent two weeks going from place to place recording an incredible roster of artists. I hope to get more of those sessions out sooner than later.
