Resonant Rogues, “Fool of the Rules” // GemsOnVHS™

GemsOnVHS | February 17, 2026

This truly proves we have been at this awhile. The last time we ran across the band Resonant Rogues it was the year 2014, a year so long ago that they listed their Reverbnation as a link to their music. The younger versions of Sparrow and Keith played an accordion and gypsy jazz guitar style tune in Shelby park on a stop through Nashville on their tour (https://youtu.be/SKxp7VnzEpo). They’d come our way through recommendation by Benjamin Tod of Lost Dog street band, and later that night played a show at a tiny little dive called Dinos, on the east side with them. Those days seem so far away now, imagine seeing Lost Dog in a tiny little bar with 15 people now.

Anyhow, the year is 2021 now, and we caught up with Sparrow and Keith again on their way through Nashville, this time in their crazy converted school bus. Again they blew us away with some incredible music, and then blew on through town. I can confirm grandma did NOT die in that bed.

Go check their new project;

On a whim, I saw you guys play at the Blue Tavern in Tallahassee. I'm so glad that I did! I had such a good time. Wonderful music and lovely lyrics. Definitely a new fan.

    I can never reconsile
    The love and the relationship
So it always ends in tears but
    Over the years
I ve learned to just go along alone
Always flowing on the wake of it all
    But with you
I don t wanna run away
    I wanna stay rite here
    With you my dear
With all your beautiful lies and all my fears
    Our Symbiotic love
    Is just fine by me
    For good and all
Cause with you by my side
I never feel old or small
    You are my beautiful
    Home
But it s still one quick flick
    To make the nick
    That kills a fool
    In this fickle world
So ya ll better stand tall
    Till its your turn
    To burn too
    in the fire
    Of it all

(Thanks Rogue's you two have saved me for one more nite)
