Join #REDHOOPTALK LIVE Friday, June 11 at 5pm EST/ 2PM PST when we visit with Dr. Gabrielle Tayac, a citizen of the Piscataway Indian Nation, and an activist-scholar committed to empowering Indigenous perspectives.
Gabi earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in Sociology from Harvard University, and her B.S. in Social Work and American Indian Studies from Cornell University.
Her scholarly research has spanned topics from hemispheric American Indian identity, Indigenous religions, to multiracialism, history and social movements.
Gabi served on staff at the National Museum of the American Indian for 18 years. She engages deeply in community relationships and public discourse. She took a two-year journey to uplift the voices of Indigenous elder women leaders. She is currently an Associate Professor of Public History at George Mason University.
