The last episode Lex and Paul did together was by far the greatest podcast Iโve ever listened to. Iโm really looking forward to this one.

The big necklaces are used to store hot charcoal in. Thereโs probably animal dung around it. That was my first guess.

Uncontacted tribes, pirates, drugs, corruption, giant anacondas, unknown species…. sounds like a Far Cry game.
This is the perfect setting and story if Ubisoft still gave a fuck about making good games. The profits would help with his conservation efforts.

I watched Beyond Terrainโs video on โuntouched tribesโ the other day. I believe the third tribe they show in the old video footage is this tribe.
The first 2 tribes live in nearby islands and are contacted but live naturally and it gives more insight into how they may live as well.

The necklace is actually a sophisticated fire starting kit.
The kit must remain dry, this is why it is worn over the chest.
The red paint on the warriors face, and the red necklace denote his crucial role in the tribe as a "fire starter".
The reason the guid was attacked while piloting the boat has to do with the very familiar sound of a chain saw and a small boat motor make.
The tribe saw the motor in the water as a chain saw cutting into their territory and harming the water.
This is why only the pilot was attacked.

Itโs so sad that there are so many rich people around the world and nobody can invest 20 dollars to help saving pure nature. It would be the best investment they ever made

Id be willing to wager that those pendants on the necklaces that they didnt let get wet was the container that holds their firemaking secrets. Makes sense why they seemed to hold them of such importance…

I think the tribe was protecting their territory, like animals, regardless of the gifts of food. L.

I really donโt understand why insanely wealthy and fanatic people like Joe Rogan donโt make a big donation to these causes, or other celebs that have the capacity to give a large sum of money.
I pray this podcast reaches rich people and leads to way more funding

Watching this was a mistake,
that section about the gangers targeting environmentalist has me depressed, canโt even get angry.
Iโm just sad now.
Threatening/Killing these brave, passionate people who are trying to help all of us by defending lands largest carbon sink and biodiversity superpower over drug money is something else.

I pray that Paul comes to Christ.
We have thousands of historical documentation about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.
What happens to us after we separate from our bodies is more important that anything else.
We should fight against the rainforest being destroyed, but its more important to convey the good news about our eternal lives after we bodily die

Why canโt all the rich people just buy the land? This is such bs. All of the billionaires could easily fund a military to protect the Amazon.

1:45:18 All the rich people of world and particulary of United States, who are humanitarian in nature should support this guy to turn this land into some National Park that will be a great service to humanity especially people like Bill Gates or Warren Buffett may take part in it also may be Arab princes could be convinced to do it anyone who has huge wealth can help this sincere and hardworking guy.

In 2004, i was on an excavation, home, in Transylvania. I had Early Neolithic, Middle Neolithic, First Iron Age, Dacians and Gepids. On the way back to our base, i was passing by by some coppersmith Gipsies, who came from the western shores of the Black Sea. That's what they said. They were travelling in horse pulled carts and were living in a few tents, made of blankets and plastic foil. I was curious, how are they working the copper? I visited them. Instantly, they started to ask, what's in my bag? I still had some food: cheese, tomatoes and some bread. They asked for it, so i gave them the food. Then, they asked for my knife, my bag, my sport shoes, my clothes. Without the metals, horses and carts, they were on the same level, like your natives.

I would think that the 2nd encounter, the group that attacked, is just another group of people that still hadn't gotten any information from the first group who got bananas.
Maybe not even part of the same community.
Gotta remember information takes a long time to spread in old societies like that.
It's also highly likely that their language may not as defined, developed and precise as our modern language is.
So it's quite possible they they are not able to convey what they experienced to their own tribe members, let alone have that experience spread to the rest of the indiginous tribes.
