Norman Ohler is a historian and author of “Blitzed: Drugs in the Third Reich,” a book that investigates the role of psychoactive drugs, particularly stimulants such as methamphetamine, in the military history of World War II. It is a book that two legendary historians Ian Kershaw and Antony Beevor give very high praise to for its depth of research. Norman also wrote “Tripped: Nazi Germany, the CIA, and the Dawn of the Psychedelic Age”, and he is working on a new book “Stoned Sapiens” looking at the history of human civilization through the lens of drugs.

Not sure about how accurate this guy is, couple of examples, the Sumerian King's list has many kings before Gilgamesh, there are thousands of quern stones at Gobeklitepe, I think it's more-or-less commonly accepted that people were living there as sedentary hunter gatherers.

Эукадал – современный Оксикодон – серьезная штуковина…особенно вместе с кокаином…Я морфинист, раньше употреблял метадон, еще раньше героин…Сейчас я снизил дозировку морфия до минимума…используя кокаин!) эммм…я "переснимаюсь" морфием …с 16-17 дня я просыпаюсь, начинаю кокаин…иду курить, пить кофе, в туалет, в душ и т.д.( потом опять дорогу и иду по магазинам)…короче…и так…сейчас в Киеве 3.45 утра примерно…я еще раз сгрелся (снюхал дорогу)…через час я уколю морфина гидрохлорид (всего 1 мл, 1%, 10.6 мг), потом выпью две капсулы снотворного Селофен…короче это стремная фигня…нооо…самая проблема в наркомании – когда есть деньги!( хер остановишься…аааа, блд…я еще про алкоголь не сказал!( Мне 41 год и лечился я 9 или 10 раз…я уже не помню…НО ЗАТО Я НЕ КУРЮ "САМЫЙ СТРАШНЫЙ НАРКОТИК" – марихуану!😂😂😂…параною начала вызывать…Короче…Я не знаю сколько я еще так проживу…с 18 лет знаком с опиоидами…про стимуляторы молчу…да, были ремиссии…но…Про психоактивные вещества я знаю…почти все…😢 Боюсь садиться за руль – не хочу кого-либо убить постороннего…

Ohler hat das Thema populär gemacht und neue Impulse gegeben, aber er war nicht der erste, der es entdeckte. Die Behauptung, Historiker und Filmemacher hätten den Aspekt „nicht gekannt“ oder „nicht interessiert“, ist pauschal falsch. Vielmehr war das Wissen in der Fachwelt vorhanden, aber nicht immer im Fokus der öffentlichen Geschichtsdarstellung. Aber er ist ja auch der Weltbeste Tennisspieler.

I use dexamphetamine and its pill form for narcolepsy back in German days of using meth it was in pill form . I reckon smoking it thru a pipe is worse than pill form !!

Nazi Germans took officially around 11mln soul (1933-45), Soviet Union and the red army took roughly 15-30mln souls (1917-91). Both systems terrored the whole world and were similar so please don't glorify the red army and the communists.

With the nations of the world who may have to defend or fight to protect and preserve their way of living. They need weapons to defend their rights and regions. With soldiers being used as weapons it is logical to improve the soldiers mind and body with drugs at the moment of battle .Germany was not the first to use this method . Primitive societies, especially in jungles , who had a good understanding of mind altering plants and their effects.

Unfortunately most of Russian soldiers were fighing because they had NKWD officers behind their backs. Many people were grateful when Germans were marching through Russia because Stalin terrorized the whole country and developed GUAG camps, and russian soldiers were stealing and raping everything. They weren't heroes…

Уверен что Трамп принимает стимуляторы те о которых вы говорите, иногда Трамп говорит сумашедшие речи. Путин также на запрещенных стимуляторах это обьясняет отсутствие у Путина эмпатии. Иначе зачем Путин тоннами везет кокаин из Латинской Америки в Россию. Наркоманы были у власти – наркоманы у власти прямо сейчас.

I've read hundreds of books on WW2 , especially from the German perspective ie memoirs , diaries etc. Very very rarely did any of them say anything about using Meth or Drugs.
I read Blitzed … and it doesn't add up.
Antony Beevor's Stalingrad … not once does he mention the use of drugs by German soldiers !!
You would think , if they ever needed meth , it would have been there eh ??

Everyone accepts that's Hitler and the nazis we're all on drugs as the winners write history. No one is making Hitler sane or normal but imagine a world where the West lost and Churchill and Roosevelt were found out to be on drugs? Of course they were. The issue is we are still talking about the real reasons why millions were killed
