Post punk just means middle class I think.

I have to say I find this song very pedestrian, the uninspired drum beat is what reminds me of the late 90s, but Id like to hear their other stuff. Guitarist is interesting as you say, but that main chord progression is the sort of thing you come up with when you just cant be bothered

Now that their third album is out, I'd say "New Beginnings" is the weakest song on it, and it's filled to the brim with bangers, no skips, all hits (and they're known for making those 😉)!

Guitar solo reminds me a bit of Gareth Liddiard, like the solo in shark fin blues. A must listen song if you haven't heard it before, possibly best lyrics ever written.

"This next song is called Walking Through Fire, and I'm sure most of you have never heard of it"

Wrong Justin, its probably my favourite song off the new album and was hoping you'd play it at Knebworth, and it didn't disappoint!!!

Can't wait to see The Darkness in December!

The Norf showing up again! Great track. Gave me more of a Beatles vibe than an Oasis one, but that could be because I’ve listened to The Beatles about a million times more🐶

The brass section at the end sounded like "A Day in the Life", the Beatles and not like that "other band" at all. Yes, lead vocalist put his hand behind his back while singing ugh, but no, this sounds much better, not whiny at all. I do hear a bit of the Verve too. Congratulations for having such a full week of musical mayhem, brilliant! 🎸

I love your channel, but ive come to a conclusion, and its nothing against you or your channel, I do understand how these things have to work, in order to keep the view count up and subscription number rising to make it a financially viable business model you need the content to be of a relevant nature, however I strongly believe that the relevance of artists being reviewed is entirely manufactured by labels throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. Yard Act are shit. Plain and simple, its not post punk, its nothing to do with punk, its just "post", a pedestrian shitwalk meandering around like a piss soaked dementia riddle old boy trying to figure out what the fuck its meant to be doing. Obviously your channel needs to cover relevant content but I question who is actually calling the shots on relevance, I fear shitty labels have infiltrated the "underground" or maybe even created an alternative underground they control and push as relevant sucking you in to promote the shite they're Peddling, its unexciting bullshit music, its boring drivel that no one cares about.

Please, someone, sneak into Justin's home and tune his guitar! Surely there's a housekeeper/plumber/pool boy who can smuggle a pitch pipe into the house and sort that guitar out.

You did do a review of one of their second album's songs. But, it would be cool if you did touch on their first album. It is so good! The vocals and raw instrumentation are what I was craving to hear when it came out.
