I'll give you a conspiracy theory; the Cars movies actually take place in a world where humans have either gone extinct (presumably murdered by the sentient automobiles at some point) or have been enslaved by the cars and are now kept hidden, forced to work in factories that produce more cars (because the alternative is the cars are somehow able to reproduce….) Proof? Easy. Why do the cars have doors and side mirrors? Why do the roads have sidewalks? Why are there still clearly a LOT of buildings/houses/etc.. that are very obviously designed and sized for humans?!?
Also, minor aside here; Mater lives in a junkyard. A junkyard that has a whole lot of various car parts just laying around everywhere…. In human terms, he lives with a pile of dismembered corpses…..

The area 51 storming was genuinely going to happen, but the joke was "they can't stop all of us" and then the soldiers defending area 51 were like "actually we can, and we will, but we really don't want to, so please don't". It ended up being a meme gathering and one dude naruto-ran in the background of the news coverage.
