The members of the Islamic State call them “lion cubs.” They are between 4 and 16 years old. They were brainwashed and abused for many months in military and religious training camps. This rare documentary captures their stories.
Some have managed to escape and are now living in Turkey or Europe. “Children of ISIS” is a documentary that captures these stories. They have to live with what they have done and find a way to free themselves from ISIS’ indoctrination. Almost all of them have post-traumatic stress disorder and do not have any kind of psychological follow-up. They are being tracked by the organization. They describe life in the Islamic State’s military and religious training camps for children. They recount what they saw and heard, what they felt, and what they had to do to come out of it alive. Female recruiters and instructors talk as well, seconding the young deserters’ statements.
This Documentary originally aired in 2017.

Damn. This is heavy af. I can't believe I just watched a 4 year old shoot someone. And 16:26 & seeing that man take care and save 2 kids while talking about killing the 4 yr old and his entire family to prevent more destruction is wild. Those poor kids, all of them. It's not the 4 year olds fault but I understand what the man is saying. It gives you a lot to think about. I guess they don't think certain kids can be deprogrammed enough?
