Native News Online | May 8, 2026

A new U.S. Supreme Court decision could reshape Native voting rights for years to come.

In this episode of Native Bidaské, host Levi Rickert sits down with Jacqueline De León of the Native American Rights Fund and Judith LeBlanc of the Native Organizers Alliance Action Fund to break down a major ruling impacting the Voting Rights Act and Native representation.

The voting right acts make sure that natives are thought of and they have reservations so their boundaries already are fully determined and they have X amount of votes and representation for the reservations. So even if they have to Advocate harder now to determine discrimination but there isn't any discrimination to begin with with the Supreme Court upholding legislation that's already in place
