Scorpions Cancel Shows… Is This the End for the Band?
The Scorpions have cancelled multiple shows—and fans are starting to ask a serious question… is this the end?
In this video, Patrick and I break discuss the recent cancellations, what’s really going on behind the scenes, and the growing concern surrounding Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker—both now 77 years old. Klaus, in particular, has been visibly struggling in recent performances, raising questions about whether the legendary band can continue at the level fans expect. David Lee Roth’s recent performances also creeps into the conversation.

You are on point here. I'm always nervous on behalf of the artists when I go see these old acts. Sometimes it flies, sometimes not. Scorpions in particular has been doing well over the years but it has to be near the end by now.

Up until 2023 they were 100% on top of the game. But after klaus surgey in 2024 he really got hit pretty bad. You know, I don't think retirement would suit them. But there is no reason they should'nt slow down a bit. Maybe take some time off from touring and focus on doing a new album and then play a show here and there when they feel good enough. I mean, i would really want to see them doing a 70 anniversary show, but for that to be possible, they should slow down a bit. I'm sure that if they take care they will be still playing in 10 years. But if they keep wearing themselves down like they do now, they might not get to play for much longer

I've had the pleasure of seeing the Scorps 31 times! If they make it to Vegas in Sept it will be # 32 ! Although they have slowed down as age does to all of us.. they still rock ! Go see them before it's too late !

First of all yes it is not a van, it is limos all the way and they haven‘t done a soundcheck for many years, the crew does it for them. But the point is, yes they are aging and one thing nobody talks about is, it is getting really difficult for them to find an insurance that is willing to cover their shows because of that. So shows might be cancelled just in case.

I don’t understand why anybody goes to see these bands with singers who cannot sing their own songs properly or least relatively close to their studio versions.
There’s plenty of footage out there to view before you buy a ticket.
As for Roth, I saw VH in 2013 and he was atrocious. He could not sing the songs in key. Horrendous! Eddie saved the show.
I did see Maiden last year and Bruce was brilliant. Unbelievably good.

It's sad but I got to see them 2x in 82 and after that I lost track of how many times I'm 60 they formed when I was born in 65

I saw them in Mexico City about 2005 on the Unbreakable Tour and that was great but was sad to see Klaus confusing Mexico flag to Italy and even said some words in italian. Later I saw them in 2016 Las Vegas resindency and it was sad for me watching them specially Klaus getting down by a lot. I even didn't enjoy the concert since was the same setlist from the first time I saw them about 18 years earlier only changing like 5 songs… but my wife who saw them for the first time enjoy it like she saw them on their prime!!
Don't get me wrong the first time I saw them in Guadalajara and later a year ago on their Amazonia tour it was great believe me. Best experience ever, but now as you say guys by watching them again (they present in Irvindale like a 30 minutes driving from home, wife encoraged me to watch them but no way watch they decadency… better save my bucks!!!

Age can hit quick. There's a limit to time. When the time comes, you have to know when to quit. Nothing lasts forever. This is just cruelty he is doing to himself. If he can't make that decision to stop, someone needs to do that for him. You don't want to see them die on stage. I'm in my 60s. I used to be a runner. I can't run across the street. I know my limits. They need to know theirs.

Honestly I've seen concerts of the Scorpions lately and Klaus doesn't look so full of energy like before. I understand he's age is not helping him perform like he used to and of course as well as he's medical condition.

I believe that they have given us fans their whole lives with their historical Greatest hits, riffs, and leads but, it's their call if they want to call it quits. I've been a huge fan ever since I was a child. Such a shame that I never saw them live! 💔😥😭🦂💯🎸🥁

Klaus isn't as bad as roth there, roth sounds horrible…Klaus just can't move…it's age…Klaus still can sing…not like back in the days but still good….so yeah hopefully they will retired..

i'm ok..i'm glad i finally saw them the first time last year..it was an awesome nite….they do need to retire becuase yeah standin on stage for that long int hehot lights..it's alot

The Scorpions have been a great band for decades, they should ride off into the sunset. Nothing to be ashamed of.
I am 54, fighting pneumonia and Valley Fever simultaneously. At band rehearsal earlier today I could only get through 7-8 songs, respiratory challenges suck! I can't imagine doing this at Klaus's age.

I saw the scorpions at the 2010 m3 festival clause did a couple songs he was sick and the other singers from the bands at the festival sang 4 him including Vince Neil, Steve Percy,many more and it was still great 2011 actually not 10

Matthias and Rudy are still playing at the top of their abilities. It's 100% due to Klaus, I'm sure. You're using your whole body to sing. He owes us nothing, I just want him to be healthy and happy.

These old bands need to just retire already . So many attempted comebacks turn out to be failures . They got money . I look at bands like Triumph and Rush and Priest and Roth . They lose it , especially their voices . I will not waste one cent on them , I would just like to remember them in their prime .

It really comes down to the individual. Alice Cooper and Sammy Hagar are still great but they are exceptions to the rule. Once you get in your 70s especially in hard rock and metal, it truly is year to year.

They cant imagine sitting at home watching tv, they fear the boredom, miss the fans, the adulation. To them it's not about the money either. They are a crew of over 20 including techs and roadies etc. They will keep.going until one drops on stage or they physically cant do it no more.

I hope to see DLR and Lou Gramm one last time, it's disappointing because I'm near 60 and I sing to tons of songs and get enjoyment and always will, I can't see Scorps not enjoying what they do. David Roth could sing melody lines and he lost that even in 2015 VH daze

I worked for a musical instrument distributor in Orlando that was owned by a man named Norbert. I only saw him a couple times a year because he lived in Germany. He was friends with most of the band and told me they were all the greatest guys. I never got to meet them but sure wish I did. That was about 30 years ago.🎉
