My favorite Pink Floyd albums are: 1) Piper at the Gates of Dawn, 2) The Final Cut, 3) The Wall, 4) live recordings from 1969 to 1971 available on "Early Years", "Ummagumma", and "Live at Pompei" and bootlegs, 5) film scores including unreleased tracks from "Zabriskie Point" and "More."

They were a primary a great live band.

I heard all their albums as they were released from 1968, and I was quite disappointed with "Wish You Were Here."

I loved their live performance during the "Meddle" tour in 1971, but hated the 1987 tour, which was NOT Pink Floyd, but a solo tour by David Gilmore using Pink Floyd's name. The audience around me was screaming, "We didn't pay $70 to see this BS! Where's Roger Waters?"

David Gilmore would tour with Rick Wright as the David Gilmore Band, but that wasn't Pink Floyd. Nick Mason tours the old songs up to "Meddle" because those were the days when Pink Floyd was a great live band. I see Pink Floyd as Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, and Nick Mason.

pink floyd, to me, is like star wars. out of the truckloads of content out there, there are only a handful of pieces i actually truly enjoy. and those pieces are some of my favorite pieces of all time.

Oh – gotta check out your Atom Heart Mother review. Bought here (original pressing), played once, and will never be played again in my lifetime. Looking forward to this, though. I have WYWH also on an original pressing, and one of the best albums ever.

I haven't watched this yet. So, I don't know. I will say upfront, even though your adorable and I love your epic bangs, we can't be friends if you don't like Wish You Were Here. I am sorry but it has to be that way.

Without watching the video, I want to say that I hate the 1-9 remix that they did of Shine on. They somehow made one of the most amazing songs ever worse. I do like the new releases. I could get into detail on what exactly I hate about the new remix, but I'm sure nobody cares, so I'll just leave it at that.

Now I will watch the video

Oh, okay, you agree with me. Here are a few things that I would add: listen to the background synth that comes in in part 6. In the remix, it is way too loud and does not blend in with the background like it was meant to. In fact, I am really disappointed with how they butchered Rick's keyboards. For some reason, the big drop of the song that happens when part 2 comes in is really weird in the remix. Like, the snare hit before the drop is louder than the main drop (which feels quieter than the original), and for some reason, it just feels less exciting at the drop than it does in the original studio version. Roger's vocals sound weird, and I can't quite put my finger on why. I agree with you on the guitars sounding a bit strange as well.

Also, congrats on getting sent the box set by the Floyd team, that is super cool! As a massive Floyd fan myself, I can only imagine how that must feel!

I thought this was the first video of the year… unless it was filmed before the 1st of January? Anyway This is less of a Redux and more of a sequel or continuation. Because the Box set goes more in depth.? This is actually the first time I ever saw a CD on your channel…BUT, it's a deluxe box set. Do you have any more deluxe box sets…im trying to remember. I know you have some of those Beatles boxes?….

I love this re-issue, I got the $66.00 version that I am very happy with and I love the outtake records as well. I have an OG Canadian pressing with a slightly different picture on the cover. Great video as always!

Recently someone posted a few different photos of Syd in the studio during these sessions, and it's clear that he's wearing 3 different shirts. So, could he have shown up more than once or did he change his shirt twice while he was there?

Although i have (at this point ) approximately 1900 vinyl records, I have shied away from collecting Pink Floyd's 'bigger' albums, because I heard them so much growing up in the 1970's and beyond. I do have their output up to and including "Meddle" which is where you could begin to hear the 'Pink Floyd sound' that we identify with them emerging. However, I am seriously thinking about 'pulling-the-trigger' on this one, after watching your video. Thanks, Abby.

If you can't get your hands on a quadraphonic system… may recommend the 5.1 surround sound dvd audio version from 2011. OMG it is a completely different experience than stereo.
