Why You Should NOT Fear Death

Pursuit of Wonder | November 9, 2025

Memento mori: (Latin) remember you must die.
Regularly confronting the thought of our mortality is not a morbid act that we should run from. It is something we should embrace, fore it has the power to bring us to life.

See there's this thing that has taken away my peace. "Nothingness". I'm not a religious/spiritual person (even tho I try to), so i 'believe' that we loss our consciousness after death. Like there's nothing after death. And that shit scares me. I just can't wrap my mind around it. I start having a panic attack everytime I think that one day I'll have to die. Like its weird man. I don't know why.

I had to watch this once again as I may not have much time left due to an illness. I remember when I was 8 or so I truly learned about death and cried. I now have a different perspective as I have not feared it in many years as I came to my own conclusion that it is exactly how this video explains. Saying goodbye to "myself" will be tough. I don't have anybody who depends on me so that's a good thing. I really hope I am NOT reincarnated as a person or anything else as that's a subject no one can really confirm or deny if is actually a possibility.

Relax- when you're dead, you won't know about it.
“I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.” – Mark Twain

I feel that we already came from nothing until our gracious Creator gave the gift of life. But is life of 70 or more years really that definition? Or is that just a reflection of it. To see without needing eyes or hear without ears. We could not imagine such an existence. There are those who have a higher awareness into spiritual insights. I do believe there is something far greater in our awareness and in experience. If people could only picture the separation of body and spirit as a curtain we all must walk into. But what about the other side of that? I just think those who believe in God do not need to be so concerned if they trust their Creator. But if you look at your own mortality and see you could be a better person? And you have just apply that truth? Then your life will be more fulfilled and enhanced.

These three states—before birth, during life, and after death—are completely separate. If we try to link our pre-birth state to what happens after death, then what do we compare our waking life to? They don’t have to be connected at all ❤

I am really struggling with death anxiety, I have been crying every night saying ”No no I don’t wanna die..” I’ve been praying every night, that god makes a miracle and I survive forever, but, no, I can’t survive every part, every second, of life, I really am scared, I need help, but when I die, just know

    God bless you All.

yeah for years i had this believe and mindset but it made me so nihilistic and the anxiety buzz it gave me really had a number on me. So i'm sticking with jesus on this one.

I do not have a fear of dying, missing out, or my loved ones suffering in my loss – I live a full life and within reason I try to make every day count! But I am terrified of any pain that could be associated with my death. Most natural deaths are drawn out, most accidental deaths are painful…. I think to “fall asleep and never wake up” should be the dream, not the fear!

We don't know what death is like though. We were devoid of the ability to comprehend before we existed so it isn't much solace to think about how we were "dead" for billions of years before

Death scare me because i will never be born again and will be in nothingness forever and it scare me more because I cant change it ,its going to happen and i cant do nothing its one time consciousness, i wish I was never born 😩😩😩. This thought will be with me for rest of my time I wonder why the religion tell us there will be something after death , so they can kill the fear of death

2:002:25 omg this is actually insane to think about
I always find my self saying that all life has to offer is pain and suffering and death is the only way out of it but I also think that it's wrong to romanticize death
