McCool is likely a fake name OR this guy is Scottish and not Irish (or maybe a mix) because that is a 100% Scottish name. Mac (or Mc) (as in MacDonald/McDonald) is a Scottish Gaelic prefix meaning "son of". The Irish equivalent is O' (as in O'Connor or O'Hara).
Source: I'm of Scottish descent and half my grandparents have a name starting with Mac lol

Ya, no. Amy couldn't bake. At Amy's BAKING company. All of those desserts were brought it.
So even that she couldn't manage 🤦

Nearly all the restaurants featured had no business being in the food business. From self-indulgent owners to average cooks thinking they are Georges Perrier. Sure, some of the pushback was staged, but you know humans, and most folks went back to their previous routines.

No, they over book and fill the restaurant. TO yes put stress on the team like a machine. To see what is broken and where things fail. How else can you get reliable information. They are usually empty failing, they dont have the people needed to fill.

Its never hidden that the locals find out he is in town. I guess it could be possible more show up then was wanted, but that is also a good test on restaurants.

The horse is already dead, Gordon can try to bring it back to life and running again but if it doesn't work? Well what did anyone expect? The horse is already dead.

Kitchen Nightmares was never about making restaurants better. The best way to make restaurants better is to let the ones with horrible food and dumb owners close. That's how capitalism works! No, Kitchen Nightmares is performance art designed to let Ramsey play the part of the angry foul mouthed chef genius. It is all about stroking Ramsey's ego. Having said all that, it is still very entertaining.

Considering the conditions in which those filthy places were before Gordon Ramsay stepped in, a 20% rate of restaurants saved and still open is certainly not a failure.

FFS people, it's a reality TV show.. The restaurants chosen were for maximum interpersonal drama because people want that. The restaurant "fixing" is secondary and in fact irrelevant. I thought we understood reality TV by this time.

The majority of the owners or managers of those restaurants were naricicists. It is impossible to solve anything unless they are fired and someone compotent to manage the restaurant is put in charge.

I think shows on TV's is the quickest way to get fame, and money. no one would have knows who is gordon ramsay if he was a 9 to 5 stuck behind kitchen screaming like a luny if french fries drink a bit more oil. Show is just bland to watch. its the same old, first half owners are dillusional second half is makeover and conclusion is happy ending 50% of the time because some ending has to be the bad apple else how can it be considered a Drama.

2 and a half minutes in and i don’t think i can finish this. If you watched even half those episodes you’d be thanking gordon for stopping those biohazards. Blaming gordon is absurd.

You are NOT the only one! I check to see if the restaurant is still open every time! Very well done video and commentary 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I love how they don’t have the same narrator as Hell’s Kitchen, Arthur Smith instead of Jason Thompson, but they clearly have the same sound designer for both shows.

My opinion, Ramsey’s shows are less scripted and more manipulated; especially in the editing bay. For example, in HK Season 2 Episode 4, Tom Pauley gets an earful for burning some duck when garage was the one who actually did it. You can see it in the Raw And Uncut stuff online. Why was it changed? Because the entire episodes is spent dunking on Pauley before his elimination. It’d the little things, not really the big things

11:40 I REFUSE to believe Amy baked a single one of those cakes. She was absolutely negligent in the kitchen, all the food was terrible, and she deliberately made something really spicy while saying quote "I hope it hurts him" but by some miracle, she just so happens to be an incredible baker? Not to mention the constant lying and ramblings of an insane narcissist? Hell no! I'll believe the cakes she served were delicious, but there's no way in hell she made them.

From my years of watching both Kitchen Nightmares and Restaurant Impossible. If the owners say they're 4 or less months from closing. They have very minuscule chance of making a comeback. 5 or more months generally give owners enough time for either Ramsey's or Robert Irvine's changes a chance to produce profits

    It's obviously 100% fake.
Imagine you're making a home movie & inviting Robert F De Niro to advise you. & you act like THIS.
    It makes ZERO sense
