Another great space history video, thank you Phil 😊
Surprised that the flat earthers/ moonhoaxers are so quiet here as apposed to the "Earth rise" vid which has over 2 million views now 😊

Love love love the NASA content. I think some insight into Wernher von Braun, and his history with the space program would be really interesting.

So so many cool space shuttle events.

They really need to try develop space suits that are 50% smaller in bulk size and more compact than what they are now so they're not as heavy and bulky or too restrictive to move about in, on top of having a propulsion system built-in that the suit physically plugs into like a dongle of sorts that attached to the suit itself so you can then be unteathered, and have additional backup battery and backup reserve oxygen tank.

Great video Phil. I recently rewatched your Earth Rise video when William Anders passed last month.
For anyone interested in NASA and the space shuttle, the new book Challenger by Adam Higginbotham is definitely worth a read.

I wonder what ever happened to that glove- probably burnt up in the atmosphere. I always wonder about things like that.
I think it's really sad that NASA is now so small and insignificant. I really want to see someone walk on the Moon or Mars in my lifetime but I'm doubting that's going to happen.
@Hunty.

He never would have floated into space anyway unless he was outside of orbit. He was much more likely to spin down to earth and have his blood shoot through his eyeballs or burn up in the atmosphere.

6:15 Why would anything float away so quickly instead of inertia keeping it orbiting close to the craft for a long time?

I despise every report on this spacewalk that implies he could have drifted off or been lost in space. No he could not. Even if the MMU had malfunctioned in the worst way possible, propelling him away from the shuttle at full thrust until its fuel was expended, the total acceleration it could deliver to him is dwarfed by what the shuttle was capable of with its own manoeuvring thrusters. So even in a worst case scenario the shuttle itself could go after him and get him back. Presentations of this story that imply this was a death-defying risky mission are basically a variation of clickbait.
