To be fair, my one great grandmother constantly stole utensils, shakers, cloth napkins, sugar packets, etc from restaurants. We dropped her off at her home after her birthday dinner to see her empty a purse full of forks, Parmesan cheese shakers, salt and cloth napkins

Thing is tho the magnet thing on the trash lids don't work all the time if people lazily throw garbage on top of it making it stockpile into a huge mess.

Yeah, the place I used to work at had one of those. Pain in the ass to keep reaching into the muck to get the silverware and some still disappeared, but it usually served it's purpose.

I worked at a restaurant that lost 9 pieces per day on average. Yes they were counted every morning.

Another solution: check your plates for cutlery before scraping them??? As a waiter I can’t imagine throwing away knives and forks and ramekins- it’s practically second nature to pick off cutlery then scrape.
I’m not saying no one can ever accidentally toss a fork, but c’mon, it’s the bare minimum as a waiter 😂

Or how about this: stop being lazy and take the silverware off before you clean the plate. I’ve worked in food service. Not throwing awaysilverware is not rocket science.

I worked in sn ER at s hospital, and almost all of us have a pair of trauma scissors at home…these are the scissors used to cut your clothes off if need be

When I visited my mom's as a child, she had Swiss Chalet silverware, and other things from Swiss Chalet also. That was the time she had been a server at Swiss Chalet, she did not last long. I remember telling her it was wrong. She replied that it was parting gifts. Sure.

Just so who ever reads this knows its not the dryer that steals stuff from your load its the washer. Seriousy, this isnt a joke your washer is the one stealing your stuff
