Brilliant commentary in it being the cannibal saying how he "actually respects people who have a different perspective (and then cooks and eats them)." It's always the people who's "perspective" is going to cause real world harm to others that complain about that, like "I respect your perspective on not murdering and eating people, why don't you respect my perspective on doing the thing you have significant moral objections to? I could be friends with someone who isn't going to kill me and then eat me. Why don't you want to be friends with me, someone who might kill and the eat you?" Whether it's bigots who push the kind of hate and fear mongering that ruins people's lives if not gets them killed, or it's conspiracy theorists who's "beliefs" directly result in people putting themselves in harm's way, real life's cannibals always try and frame their position of hurting people and their opposition's position of "hurting people is bad" as equal and mutually respectable, and your objection as proof that your side is so much worse and less respectful than yours is. Sometimes I think they genuinely can't comprehend the idea of "I draw a very hard moral line at you potentially hurting me or others I care about, which you do not have to do with me because I am not advocating for that the way you are"

Some other yt guy brought up that when Bill Nye debated the guy from the young earth Christian museum trying to create a 1:1 replica of the ark of noah (that couldn't afford it and was going under as a business), about whether or not god was real, even though most of the world agreed bill nye won, the young earth guy got so many donations afterwards he could afford to finish his boat and now schools can take classrooms of children to go stare at statues of dinosaurs and modern (in a genetic sense) humans placed together while a totally not biased museum guide trys to convince them the world is 2k yrs old… platforming makes a deranged idea seem worthy of debate.
