USA has always been, what next threat is coming from… China, Russia or Iran? . I mean instead of that just build some good things, keep tech edge. Instead of making the world a better place, these people are just focusing on supposed threats. Let AI run wild and just self develop into some crazy shit and Terminator 2 and 3 don't seem very far anymore.

Trump and the right-wing always point the finger at China, but Russia is the real threat. If they do create a true AGI it be become Skynet. There will be no stopping it. When that comes, I hope Skynet leaves all of the flora and fauna in tact.

As soon as immortality and robot labor are in full 100% utilization population will need to go down, fear is Covid was the test for what is to come. War > Famine > Pestilence > Death.
P.S After bit for consideration, maybe population will drop gradually, though with all the security for families building up with UBI. Dream is we could build the Heaven, nightmare is we could build Heaven for the few left. How would the world look like if humans are immortal or live 500+ years? Solutions of any kind to problems that maybe will arise, and the line between Heaven and Hell ever glooming.
