Leeja why is the racism not enough to say this guy shouldnt be a leader with in the party???? Why did the party only take his offences seriously once white woman were harmed? This video didn't age well at all. There is no liberated country with racism, and until you and every other white person understand that we will never be free of it. There's no messy conversation to be had, this is just straight up ignoring racism and saying it's okay as long as we can get to a better place in other areas. For everyone who did not listen to the black and brown people who were clearly against this guy from the jump, they need to really think long and hard about their actual views. If you're willing to look the other way when it comes to our leaders being racist then you are no better than the founding fathers.

Mamdani moved away from "Defund the Police" because the NYPD are an incredibly powerful gang with support through concerted propaganda efforts, not because he had a change of heart. It's literally politicking. Not good, but unfortunately necessary.

If you aren't prepared to forgive, you're not going to win. Take a leaf out of Mandela and the old ANC book. They reconciled with far worse sociopaths. But you'd also be a dope to believe any politician has no ulterior motives, or is untainted by dark money influence. Give people a chance, but "tie your camel securely."

I agree people can change but he still talks a lot about his time in the military as cool fighting our country dope killin them foreign adversaries etc. I don’t think his views have changed in this area and I don’t think what we need is another military boot licker, regardless of if he is technically progressive in other areas. If he continues to change, sure, but at this time I don’t think his words align with progressive values

He doesn’t get to act like being in the military was a hardship for him and woe is me about it. He talks positively and proudly about it and often speaks about how he loves fighting he always wanted to not just be in the military but go to active war and physically fight and kill people.
