Now I may have not seen all of the films on this list, most of which I’ve never actually even heard of; but I will say a few things about some of the ones I have seen on here…

I saw Showgirls several times on cable tv about a year or two after it came out in theaters. When I was growing up in the 1990s, My maternal grandmother, may she rest in peace, she used to have to take care of me a lot and I would have to stay at her apartment. More often than not, Showgirls would be on her tv while I was in the room with her, and no matter when, I always seemed to catch the Skinny Dipping scene between Elizabeth Berkley and Kyle MacLachlan. So she was literally my first ever exposure to the beauty of a naked woman, even though I was too young to understand what was happening, let alone appreciate it.

The original Wild Things, I saw it years after it was released. I have the original version on digital and have the unrated director’s cut on dvd. It’s a very tasteful movie. That makeout pool scene between Denise and Neve, so exciting.

I first saw American Pie when I was 11 years old. I’d convinced my mom to rent it so I could watch it. Even though I’d already seen the aforementioned skinny dipping scene from Showgirls, I still like to credit Shannon’s big scene as my first real exposure to female nudity in a movie. Of course, knowing now that her dirty pillows had in fact been fake by that time, I don’t enjoy it as much anymore.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High will always be one of my most favorite movies. But I feel like Phoebe Cates’ scene heavily overshadows the just as fantastic nude scenes from her costar Jennifer Jason Leigh. Those scenes are just as tasteful.

I’ve only seen Titanic a couple of times, but Kate’s scene is forever iconic.

To this day, I have not seen Swordfish and therefore haven’t seen Halle Berry’s famous scene. I need to rectify that.

Now then, I’d like to add a few honorable mentions of movies with great nude scenes that some of you might not even know about.

The topless tattooing scene from Foxfire featuring Angelina Jolie, Hedy Burress and Jenny Shimizu.

Every nude scene in the 1995 movie Carried Away with Amy Irving, Dennis Hopper and Amy Locane.

And the love scene in the LGBTQ film; the Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love.

Calling Mickey Rourke "Mickey Rooney" is the highest compliment anyone has ever paid to Rourke. And Rooney was one of the most disliked people in film history.

Henry and June was not the first NC17 movie. It was the first made after the rule. Many older movies that were rated single X were transferred to the rating. The real first was The Secret Sex Lives of Romeo and Juliet. It was made in 1969 and first rated X.

As Watchmojo mentioned, I would question whether the nudity was relevant to the story, (i.e. Titanic, Shame, Shape of Water), or was it put there for shock value. It's certainly a topic of debate.
