Why most people assume is that easy to get a gun to the point a kid will have no trouble les to get one? Even in the 90s it wasn't like that, even that kids you're think about when the word kids guns and 90s comes to mind have troubles to find guns and they don't buy legally any of them

Pokemon was actually more controversial aside from polygon problem, the cultural clash between Japan more permissive politics towards children media allowing soft innuendo and sexual themes in kids media with realistic representation of guns and overall a more liberal approaching to kids media constantly clash with westerner television like the infamous bikini episode, the episode where the crew are at gun point, the reference to n4zis and the jinx controversy, etc. Honestly the anime controversy and cultural clash as a whole was so much of a big thing in the 90s that it diserve it's own category, because the more liberal approach of japanese tv for kids frequently clashed with the more conservative and hyper portective policy of 90s childrens television

Its absurdly surreal that power rangers eas controversial for "violence" to me who born after 93 lol! Dude the show was even tone down on violence compared to previous 80s and 70s tokusatsu and they never cause any controversy in japan because of that (well less kamen rider Amazon but that was too far, the konster literally bleed and were dismembered, even for 70s japanese television that was too much) in other hand japan always had a problem with real violence on news media and thats why they cover other news than violence content, I guess this shows us how hypocrite america is

    "Undermining the importance of fathers"
my dad hadnt paid child support since i was 16, stfu XD
and im sure back then, there were house holds just like mine, or had it worse than me that the dad just wasnt there through no fault of the mother.
if a dad was so important, then less of them would be leaving if they wall wanna be "stand up men"

if youre a man with children, i have 2 different messages.

if you gone through a divorce after youve had your child:
you still have a responsibility to your child.

if you fled before the woman gave birth:
youre a coward of a man who shouldnt be able to reproduce.

Darkwing Duck, Power Rangers & co got banned here in Sweden… And now we has an insane violence amongst youngsters out there, wonder why? While in Japan shows hyper-violent cartoons (and comics) which vastly exceeds many USA splatter movies and Japan is among or if not the least violent country on the world…

Ren and Stimpy always creeped me out but I couldn't figure out why (considering I grew up with Garbage Pale Kids cards). Turns out that the creator is a confirmed pedo…

A lot of the innuendos went right over my as a kid. I completely missed the joke of the buffalo gals. That or i just didn't know that content of sex jokes at that age.
    Edit:
The whole point of "one beer" is to make kids not drink, there was no shock value or they didn't go as hard as they could have. Even as an afult its pretty tame.
I loved the Attitude era of the WWF that's the only time I watch wrestling and it fits right in the 90s era.
Yes I watched Jerry in the 90s but this was when reality shows were few and far between. Now their a dime a dozen and I cant stand them anymore.

I think its important to note that, while Ellen was proven to be a bad person, her work for the Gay community is pretty big. Moved gay rights forward by decades, honestly. Its a moment in history, and its a good one. Its that point in history when someone said, "You know what? I'm gay, and I'm gonna tell everyone, and its okay." And it is. It is okay to do that.

Ive binged South Park whilst in Hospitals at various times in my life, and my goodness its great. Its not just vulgar for the sake of being vulgar, its been a place where you can literally point a random person to a certain issue and it will give you the facts of the issue from both sides, all whilst being vulgar and humorous. Also, they do just make fun of people, and that's okay. You don't have to like it.

I have to comment on Bill Maher's comment about " say what you want, but flying a jet into a building is not cowardly… " I literally could not disagree more…. he is totally wrong to think that , let alone say it, on national television…. those 9/11 terrorists were the epitome of cowards when they flew those planes into the towers… tricking the passengers into thinking they were being hijacked , only to murder them…. only the most evil , and weakest cowards imaginable could carry out such a deceiptive plot… if they were brave , they would have gone after the U.S. military , not innocent civilians….make it a fair fight. But they were cowards , hiding in plain sight.

15:58 This Simpsons episode WAS NOT controversial in the slightest! People at the time completely understood it, it stands as one the best episodes from the show… stop trying to create issues.

Yeah, Cow & Chicken wasn't exactly a kids cartoon even though it was made out to be one, and my mom banned me from watching Ren & Stimpy, but she let me watch Ed Edd'n Eddy.
