I've come to believe in JD Vance's statement that Trump is America's Hitler. He's the avatar of American anger, arrogance, entitlement, hollowness and hypocrisy. But the 'good people on both sides' thing needs to stop being a criticism of him. There were neo nazis and there were also non nazi conservatives who were there (I think before the nazis arrived). That's who he was talking about and when we say he was calling nazis good the Trump defenders rightly don't take it seriously and it numbs more legit criticism of him.
