This is the 2nd year of my annual tradition of getting hella sick right as I finish Year-End List Season 😭 if I sound weird at any point in the video, I apologize.

Thank you all for watching this and any other videos of mine this year. I’m wishing you all a happy holiday season and a happy new year!

Interesting list! I tend to really like your opinions, so I've added a few to my "hey, you missed these in 2025, get to them" list. My favorites of the year are mostly pretty standard, but my top two are ones I haven't seen on any lists: #2) Baths: Gut, #1) Divorce: Drive to Goldenhammer. I think they're probably not to everyone's taste, but I think they're truly extraordinary.

One thing that pops in my mind when I see album ranking videos/articles is how these lists translate to your own personal "music ecosystem" that you live in on a daily basis. Perhaps this is more about my own specific way of interacting with music since I am generally slow to get into artists/bands but when I do, I will engage with entire discographies and get pretty intensely into them until they get "integrated" into my existing ecosystem of preferred bands/artists.

Perhaps a better way to ask. How many of these albums are you confident that you will still be listening to in five years?

I’ve loved your videos and your sense of humor for a long time now, and it’s been really great to watch your content evolve and feel more and more you. Please don’t ever be afraid to take risks or follow whatever excites you creatively.

On that note, this list honestly saved me from a very long airport day and turned it into something fun. I discovered so many great albums I’d never heard before — especially as someone from Brazil who isn’t a huge music connoisseur. Thanks for that!

one album i really didn't expect at all to see (and didn't see) in anyone's top 2025 albums lists is Willi Carlisle's Winged Victory. it absolutely has a spot in mine and i expect his work to gain more and more traction in the next years. if you're in the market for indie folk, americana, alternative country with years of research in the history of the genres covered to back it up, i highly recommend you check him out, especially Peculiar, Missouri and Critterland. personally, it's been the best thing to happen to me in music this year
