We’ve seen through volcanic eruptions that we can cool the planet significantly by pumping particulate aerosols into the stratosphere. But there’s a major catch. We talk about that in today’s Lightning Round video, along with discussing the nature of computer intelligence, which extinct animal I would eat, and whether or not anything can actually be still in the universe.

Eienstien said no special reference frames, which means no way to judge what not moving at all in spacetime means.

B theory of time says that time is static, kind of like divisions on a ruler, every moment existing and not going out of existence, and we experience it as an phenomenon of consciousness.

Alan Turing was not wrong. He expected the testing person is intelligent, not a average internet user in 21st century after 50 years of educational decline.

Gravity might be the weakest of all forces but it is the most patient, and in the end it'll always win.

Isn't it impossible to "stand still" in space due to the expansion of spacetime? Kinda getting dragged with it, so you cant "stand still" because spacetime is never still/ expanding.

That’s called dry steam and turbine engines do this with just their incredible amount of compression. It’s why turbine performance is almost completely unaffected by humidity, and why some use water injection to increase performance.

The uncontrolled release of CO2 in the past two centuries has been one big geoengineering project anyway, and before that, the deforestation of vast swathes of the earth over millennia. Our species has been pretty lucky in not completely destroying our own habitat globally yet.

The UN just admitted they were wrong about their warming estimates. This is promoting a solution for a problem that does not exist, and which is likely to create unforeseen adverse side effects.
Just stop already.

Is Geo engineering the reason it is always Raining in Blade Runner?
Not moving at all in space time, would be the equivalent to absolute zero degrees.
The last question, hyper heated air that is dehumidified?

I thought everything moved through spacetime at the speed of light? If you go faster in space, then you will go slower in time and vice versa.. is it not so?
@dschingy
June 3, 2026 at 1:03 pm
14:41 Correct. Even if you were to shoot a rock at lightspeed at the edge of the universe, in the same direction as the expansion is happening, it'd eventually reverse it's velocity at some point, since the universe semms to expand faster than the speed of light…but that's all relative from a point of view…

I always hate people who say oh there isn't climate change you smoke in a room and you could smell it and it gets all on the walls and everything that's just a tiny room imagine that on a global scale sure it might not be as noticeable but it's going to happen

Termination Shock = Geostorm
@martondora506
June 3, 2026 at 1:04 pm
Other big problem with "geoengineering" is that it won't actually solve the problem: we are putting Waay too much CO2 and other greenhouse gasses to the atmosphere, this would actually let industries to pollute even more than now, because why not, we are already have a cheap way to interact the worse negative effects. So we would simply reach the same temperature a little bit later, then of course would need to do more geoengineering to keep up with the higher pollution, until it can't be done anymore and then it all collapses in a huge termination shock. It should be used as metadone for the addict: while we are fixing the cause issue, we may use it very lightly just to survive until we are able to fix the main problem (so only if we are sure that we don't cause more harm with it)

The bigger question is…what exactly are we fixing? Is the earth warming? Sometimes, a bit, very slowly. Why is it warming? Impossible to understand in contemporary terms. Are we still coming OUT of the last ice age? No way to prove. Are we going TOWARD an ice age, yet hindering it via man's impact on environment? No way to prove. While the Interstellar (movie) concept of working to SOLVE a problem BEFORE it occurs sounds great…but when EXACTLY do you pull the trigger? Now? 1 degree? 2 degrees? 3? 5? This discussion is (mostly) mental masturbation. NOTE: I'm not "denying" anything…other than the fact that we "know" much of anything.
