Elephants actually are known to frequently return to the locations of deceased elephants even several years after they have died, simply to pay respects to the dead. It really is insane just how aware of death elephants are!

These are just the extinctions we are able to witness. Only God knows how many animals – and non animals – have had their genetic diversity expunged from the Earth record over the course of its existence. The fossil record is like finding only two nickels as evidence that the United States Dollar economy existed. Probably.
Look into the Earth disaster cycle. Magnetic pole flips, every 6,000 years, and we're about to undergo another shift. So many animals utilize the magnetic pole for navigation, some are inevitably going to not survive as a whole. Humans don't innately sense the planetary magnetism, but I bet you my PC that we will almost go extinct within another couple of decades. Goodbye animation. Goodbye knowledge of the sunbear. Goodbye politicians. Sayonara anime, video games, and contemporary hentai art.

Fuck being sad, there was a bear raised by an polish artillery division in(I’m pretty sure) WW2, they raised it on milk and honey, it drank beer, smoked cigarettes, wrestled with the other soldiers, and carried shells and ammo boxes during combat. When when officers found out they told them they couldn’t keep pets, so the gave the bear the rank of private, making them not a pet, but an official member of the team
