Small bit of housekeeping – you might notice that this video has proper English captions on it! I’m trying to get back into the habit of captioning my videos going forward, so I hope that improves the viewing experience for anyone who wants/needs them.

Kk that’s it enjoy the video thank you!!!!

my dad once played ai blues music for a period of time before leaving it, it was too easy to tell it was easy by the fact the audio is grainy which also sometimes becomes overly goated and the very copied repetitive pattern, boom clap boom clap over used yee haw voice you get it

Several times recently, I've been listening to a new song while driving and I start by liking it, but after a short while, I start noticing something odd. Something just seems off. There will be a phrase that sounds like an emulation of something someone would say, but not really what a human would say. Or the sounds are just a little too… smooth. In thw way that some ai images have that overly-smoothed look, the instrument sounds are smooth. Then I'll stop driving, look it up, and SURE ENOUGH, IT IS GODDAMN AI! I CAN'T STAND IT!

Another effective solution is, don't use streaming services. Owning the music is infinitely better than relying on a service with an algorithm telling you what to hear

I just don't listen to anything that released recently. There's more than enough music from before the 2020s to keep finding something I've never heard before.

i think it's a good thing that this AI detection algorithm can't identify AI usage coming from specific plugins, like Ozone or Vocoflex, because those usages of AI are really not on the same level as Suno at all and should not considered problematic in most cases. And when they are problematic, then for different reasons than the AI general, but like stealing other people's voices unchanged and stuff

Somthing for me. I can always tell from the voice. I don’t know why they just haven’t made AI voices that don’t sound strangely flanged or something. Because they’re so trained on lossy voices perhaps?

In the novel “ 1984,” we are told that there is a machine called the “Versificator” which cranks out entirely vapid but catchy music for the proles to listen to, so they can have mindless entertainment for the masses without having to put up with a notoriously, difficult subculture of artists, creators, and free thinkers.

That’s not a political observation on my part, I’m not saying there’s anything inherently in the various in this, I just think it’s interesting

You don't know how streams work: no money you pay, zero streams. What makes you certain that every single popular star of yours is not using bots to bloat their views/streams? The system will recommend only those with highest views.

Ultimately cost will be the deciding factor. If its cheaper to go AI then tech bros will go that route. The general audiences cannot tell the difference anyway or care. The real issue is that a lot of talented musicians will be forced to compete in an environment they cannot handle. Musicians are rarely great on day one. It takes years. If you have this cheap ready made competition then odds are your opportunity to grow and improve will vanish. You might still get a few that make it big but 90% will be done.
