My first thought watching this video was how I could never get over the kind of discomfort while seeing such interviews, but then I remembered Philomena Cunk. That woman is perfect at this

I love all things awkward because I have no shame. I am not embarrased. I feel no need to impress others. So when something gets awkward and the other person starts to freak out for, in my view, NO REASON I think it's hilarious. Nothing is happening. Literally nothing. Yet they can't handle it, lol. It's like dads telling dad jokes just to annoy their kids, cuz lets face it, the joke shouldn't upset you that much. The reaction is disproportionate to the situation, and that's comedy gold. It's the literal definition of clowing.

I never saw Jerry Seinfeld as anything other than kind of a jerk who always talk shit about people behind their backs including his own best friends . He never reacted to anyone with empathy or understanding or compassion almost the entire show and no one ever changed , not really. It wasn't just a show about one asshole, it was a show about several who treated everyone outside of their group horribly. It was the epitome of mean comedy not just uncomfortable comedy.

one of the earliest and most awkward I've heard was Jonny Greenwood 2003 radio interview
it was as if he was interviewed by two twelve year olds
I do rewatch it, when I post factum realize I said something stupid and need to feel better
    also Jonny is kinda funny

You should watch the interview where John Lennon and Yoko Ono are IN BED in pajamas being inexplicably interviewed by comic cartoonist Al Capp… who hates them and hates that they are those things.

I really want to add something important to know for Bobbi: She was making videos a while before she got popular for her awkward interviews, and her whole “thing” was that she is always expressionless in everything she does because she purposely doesn’t make facial expressions—her whole character is that she doesn’t find things funny or ever laugh at anything *on purpose*. Because she (her character she’s playing) doesn’t want to get wrinkles from smiling.

And what I’ve always loved is watching her sometimes struggle to hold back her smile and laughter, because sometimes she really has to fight it! It’s all a character she’s playing; she’s not playing stupid or a silly airhead—she’s playing someone who’s humorless.

I just want to add that context because I really, really feel like it helps understand her humor even more!

I think you would really benefit from watching her older stuff before she started the awkward interviews!

honestly, Amelia has some pretty hilarious moments. of course sometimes the jokes don't really land or it gets awkward because you can't get a laugh all the time; it's normal. but more often than not I feel like she's pretty funny
