I was just watching Black Phone 2 (which is set in the 80’s$, and less than ten minutes in, a radio station said “And now for a new song from Fex” and then started playing it!

I'm glad that this song has been found and that the band has gotten the recognition they deserve, but that feeling that I got from listening to it for the first time will never be recaptured. The fact that it was a relitavely normal sounding song that we could listen to but knew nothing about was fascinating. It felt like a portal had opened from a dimension just adjacent to ours, and the only thing that came through before it closed forever was this song. It was strange, eerie almost, yet familiar. It was a ghost from another world, different from ours yet similar enough to be recognised. Now it's just another song from our world. Again, I'm glad that it was found, but that feeling that drew me towards this song was so unique and it's gone unfortunately.

I'm surprised at how close the original search was. NDR was the label that hosted the competition that FEX was in. The song btw is "Subways of your Mind" by FEX. They also released the full demo tape with 15 unreleased songs from that exact competition Concert

This song is going to be regularly played on a lot of people's playlists now. It's a legit good song. I'm loving the acoustic version they just played.
