Tariffs Strike: Analogue 3D Gets More Expensive + More Retro News!
Analogue 3D is finally getting restocked… but there’s a catch. 💸 In this episode we break down the November 24th preorder return of Analogue’s 4K, FPGA-powered Nintendo 64-style console, why the price just jumped from $249.99 to $269.99, and what tariffs have to do with it. Is it still worth the premium for original-cart, zero-emulation gameplay, or are you tapping out this round? 🎮
We’re also checking in on Retro Games and PLAION’s The Spectrum Collector’s Edition — a gorgeous all-white tribute to the legendary ZX Spectrum, complete with matching QuickShot-style joystick, thermal printer, and other throwback goodies celebrating 8-bit home computing in style. 🇬🇧🖥️
Then we flip over to the BrickBoy Arcade Edition, a wild LEGO-powered upgrade that turns the LEGO Game Boy build into a tiny arcade cabinet with HDMI output, boosted performance, and local multiplayer. Yep, a mini LEGO cab on your desk playing real games and lighting up like an ‘80s arcade. 🧱🕹️

Stop lying tariffs have nothing to do with this. They just want more money.

It is an original Gameboy, not a Gameboy Advance.

Well done on pronouncing ZX Spectrum correctly George 😀 the special edition looks good but a bit pricey. So sad to hear Burger Beckie passed away, an absolute legend in the scene. 💜

Good luck Analogue 3D. I suspect you'll be out of business in less than a year.

I dont believe it's the tariffs at all. It's because all the big corporations who are building Ai. Farms are buying up all the parts. Causing pc parts to sky rocket in price

Aren’t tariffs grand?
I know there’s some here who doubt they are having an impact. Try buying a cart on eBay from Canada, the UK, Australia…and of course there’s the issue with buying anything from Mexico now. The completely unnecessary and politically motivated tariffs do have an impact. Can companies be greedy and tack on extra price increases? Of course. But when politicians who slept through their Econ courses start fucking with global economic markets, we all get screwed. A certain group changed from laissez faire to micro(mis)management on a whim. It’s not good for anyone.

Meh – Super Station One is the real value in this space. It’ll play all the N64 games plus anything that’s cd based (ps one, pc engine cd, Saturn, etc) .
Not a fan of them blathering about tariffs. $20 is a portion of shipping cost. That play sunk it for me. I like their products but not that much

I met Rebecca at VCF in Dallas last year. She didn't know me at all, but grabbed me in a big hug. We talked for a few moments (she wasn't actually a guest, just there as an attendee), and I got a selfie with her. Absolutely awesome. RIP. Tass Times in Tone Town was a big part of my childhood.

I'd like to get one but I'm not paying 400 dollars for it when I already have the entire n64 library in every region on my emulation rig. If I want to play official versions, I have the NSO N64 controller on switch 2.

Gen-X doesn't really give a shit about Nintendo 64. The youngest of Gen-X was 16 when N64 came out and video games were low priority after partying.

Rest in peace RH …
Thanks George for another great episode!
And I can’t see the $20 increase being a make or break for anyone … $40 or more maybe.
Loved that Gameboy Lego mod at the end
PLP-on! 👊🏻🕹️📺🥳

The ESA is crying about tariffs saying they will have "a real and detrimental impact", I think it's the game companies charging $90 for buggy, unfinished games that is having the impact.
