I paused right at the beginning, and tried to think about what I remember a mall smelling like. I think you nailed it with the coin fountains, as that was the first thing I remember them getting rid of when they started to "Modernize" in the 90s. I don't remember Orange Julius having a smell, but that might just have been because my mall had a Sbarro right across the way from it. The other thing that came to mind was the truly awful smell of the hair salons giving people "Perms", and I'm glad nobody's making a candle of that! I guess the only other thing is the way people smelled back then. Probably lots of carcinogens in the scents people used to wear, but the department stores with their girls spraying perfume samples would just knock out today's sensitive consumers. Don't forget the wood chips in the pet store, and I'm sure someone else will mention the theater popcorn too. You could almost navigate by smell with a blindfold!

I vote Salon Selectives,in memory of my sister who used it when I was a kid and up til recent years! 🙏❤️ it’ll always remind me of her and me watching her do her hair while listening to Whitney Houston when I was little ❤️

I live in Virginia Beach and our Lynnhaven Mall was built in 1981 and is still going strong 42 years later! It's one of my favorite places on earth! I'm 56 years old and I've been going to that Mall since I was fifteen! Me and my buddy Chris still go there about once a week and eat Chick fil-la for dinner and then go to Hot Topic, Game Stop, FYE, Barnes & Noble, Spencer's and Dave & Busters! Lynnhaven Mall also has a Dillard's, Macy's, LL Bean, JC Penny's, AMC Theaters, Dick's Sporting Goods, Old Navy, Build a Bear etc. etc.

We always entered the mall at a major anchor store, so I always remember the smell of leather jackets and the perfume/ cologne section were the store opened up into the rest of the mall.

x I wonder if she takes requests for the special prize inside…I want a picture of the "Say No To Drugs" video and also "Say No To Drugs" on it!
o A picture of a music video inside a 80s mall candle, that reminds me of the music video "I Think We're Alone Now" By Tiffany!
o From 7-12 grade, we had B.A.D. dances (Burwell Against Drugs), I went to probably around…around 80 of those dances (would have around two a month).
t I remember Keith was in the B.A.D. club (Battle Against Drugs)!
