    My dad was an avid skier back in the 80's and 90's and he had all the goofy ski movies. This one as well as Hot Dog the movie are burned into my brain. My favorite ski comedy movie was called Ski Patrol because it was just a basic comedy film.

    Oh my god. When I was a very small child I saw a scene from this movie where the girls flash the skiers, but i didn't know it was a movie and always thought it was just an actual ski tournament

    bro being into cassettes now is peak. I remember going to HMV and buying a double sided Xfiles soundtrack on cassette and playing it over and over because it's all I had. Nostalgia.

    I can't tell if this is a remake of "Animal House" or "Meatballs" from the decade prior to 1990 (more or less), but I guess it doesn't matter. Weird how many of the dudes look vaguely familiar, but none of the women do. At first I thought Party Lady was Paulina Porizkova, but it's not. Anyway, looks like great cinema, if only ever so slightly derivative

    I just realized that Dave Marshack is the same character from the ski mountain episode of it's always Sunny in Philadelphia, which is crystal clear the episode was ripped right from this movie

    And suddenly, that Always Sunny episode makes even MORE sense! lol South Park too. I knew both were parodies, but had never seen the movie is actually came from.

    It sounds like "Ski School" is where Elon Musk learned how to be a billionaire, except he watched it backwards, so he just shows-up, says he's rich, destroys everything people value about the place, and then forces everyone to fuck him.

    I used to see a lot of movies in this slobs vs snobs party genre. There's at least 3 other ski movies EXACTLY like this one. Usually they were edited for cable, so no nudity. But as a kid under the age of 12, I uncritically accepted the idea that in college, if you are a cool backwards hat party guy who isn't an uptight WASP, and you drink a lot of beer and go crazy, then dozens of hot women will just take their clothes and try to have sex with you.

    Just a few months ago, ski patrols in the US went on strike. Ski resorts are more crowded than ever ,lift tickets are more expensive than ever, and cost of living near resorts is insane but ski patrol hasn't seen a pay increase. Boomers were really upset about the strike because in their minds, being on ski patrol is supposed to be a "lifestyle" job. Meaning that it's supposed to be a low-paying job because people just do it part time to support their party ski bum lifestyles. I think some of the stupid discourse has been influenced by these ski movies that portray it as just a big college party.
