I might be shouting into the dark, but I might have had the same tumor Matt had (I had a schwannoma in my T1 region of my spine). I got it removed at the last second according to the doctors. I shouldn't be able to walk or even go to the bathroom on my own. I, though, recovered and can walk without pain. I'm back to running and biking and living my life. My recovery wasn't as arduous as Matt's. But it still required relearning how to walk again.
Since the year and a half I had the surgery, I feel like I haven't done anything with my life. I had all these plans to be a better person and make all these creative projects I want to make. I had these grand visions of becoming someone great. Someone who you couldn't ignore. An none of them are off the ground. I feel like I'm stuck at square one. I keep thinking I'm getting to get a light bulb moment where everything clicks and I just magically become the man I want to become. Yet, I still have the same flaws that have always dogged me. Ones that family and friends point out with good intention and yet I feel such deep shame about it all.
I remembered I'd watch these videos in high school/college to help me get through the more melancholy times this morning and decided to see if they'd give me a bit of inspiration. I didn't think I'd be crying at 6:30 in the morning on a Monday I took a sick day because I keep drinking too much and not doing my work, yet here I am. Seeing Matt do something so profound real humbled me. Thank you, Ze and Matt. I wish I had something more than a simple thanks.

That was a very honorable act, Ze. I am glad you walked in Matt's shoes. It was a very positive action.

I'm a wheelchair user. You're beautiful, Ze. I would send you my shoes so you could go for a walk in them for me, too, but you would never get your feet into them, I'm a tiny woman LOL

Oh Ze!! Not Jose. But ooooh Ze, I’ve been watching your videos since 2009. This one I missed. You still amaze and your genius on YouTube is unsullied despite all the other YouTubers even today in 2019. What will you give us for the 15th anniversary in 2020. I’ll be waiting and walking in my own shoes til then.

Everything has meaning if we take the time to experience, but seldom is it sought after in todays fast paced society.
Sometimes it takes incredibly uncomfortable shoes to slow the pace and allow the experience to reveal it's meaning…and it is usually worth the wait…and a blister or two.

Please please please can you return with some of this kind of content just once in a while? You have so much wisdom and insight to share with us all and we miss yo crazy face! Not that I dont adore true facts. I do. I just love this old series too and wonder how much knowledge you must have to share with us by now. I don't think you realise quite how special some of your videos really are. It's a shame about the algorithm making it so hard to find them.

Whenever I've bought new shoes I've thought of this video. It makes me smile every time I think about it.
I hope you're still well, Matt. Walk on, fellow Sports Racer.

To the problem solver: A tip: Sometimes women just want you to listen to their problems, they don't want you try and solve it. <3

I think its a pretty good metaphor that you have to use someone elses shoes that are smaller than you. You cant relate to them because they have smaller feet, making it uncomfortable AKA you've never gone through what they have. Maybe you have i dont know though aha but. If you used someone else's shoes your size. youd be comfortable and it would kindof defeat the purpose. terrible punctuatation… i know idgaf tho

I like how you said, "I see bunnies" in such a deep voice.
I love how you did this. I love how the man sent you his shoes, thus creating one of the most profound events I've ever had the pleasure of watching.
