11:49 – These new bands are not great at all. Is there only one metal vocalist in Sweden? In all those bands the singer sounds the same – a generic random death metal growling. Is this not boring already?

Dark Tranquillity will always be my favorite. Just too many fantastic songs that make just the perfect mood! To me, the Electronic and Gothic elements not only don't detract from the music, but instead truly enhance it… but they can also be as fast and as heavy and their peers! It's the best of both worlds!

The Swedish thrash scene has been injected with new blood the last few years. Bands like Eradikated, Sarcator, Eternal Evil, Bloodstain and Xion has started a new wave of Swedish thrash that I would recommend all thrash fans to check out.

I think the most underrated Swedish metal scene is the original wave of trad metal, aka FWOSHM, First Wave of Swedish Heavy Metal with bands like Gotham City, Heavy Load, 220 Volt, Universe, Mindless Sinner and such. Sweden also had a small but great thrash and doom metal scene.

Cool video. Best scene ever.
The Lighthouse is Eye of Purgatory’s second album not third. That is Darkborne which came out this year.
Also Rogga Johansson is the only Swede in the band. The other two are Jeramie Kling (Inhuman Condition, Venom Inc and current Overkill drummer) and Taylor Nordberg (Inhuman Condition and Deicide), they are from Florida.

A big meh for me. However, What I care about is the video I saw recently, Where people are going around sweden, tearing off Antifa pins from people's jackets, Right infront of them, And they do nothing about it. Idk which is worse, Their actions, Or the lack of action after it's been done. All due respect for how gnarly swedish metal has been over the years, though.

However you missed one death-band from Stockholm… Katakomba. You need to check them out.
Also a Thrashband from Hör, Eradikated they’re the future of Swedish thrash.
Both bands have released two albums.

Edit:Oh so you're half Swedish Reggie, That likely explain why you know the correct pronunciation of "Skitsystem" and "Anti-cimex", which non swedish speakers usually don't 🙂

I've also visited sweden this summer, shoutout to "Arsenik Bistro" is Malmö. Great guy, great music.
Some new/ish swedish band i enjoyed lately:
Century – heavy metal, formed in 2020
Ereb Altor – not that new but they regularly pump out great albums
Harrowed – old school death formed around 2020 (i think)
Mystik – formed in 2016, unfortunately split-up
Nektomant – heavy/doom metal – formed in 2016
