The Progressive movement, along with the MAO and Stalin, will control speech in your home but challenging false narratives that are Sexists or Racists, these are laudable goals that Smithsonian Museums should aspire to. This isn't an Epcot or Disney World museum. Science and Actual History should be the standard, not religious or ideological fundamentalism which is exactly what NAZISM was. A developed understanding of Third Wave Feminism, and Critical Race Theory is required here, and if you compared 1930's NAZI techniques of propaganda you would find similarities with progressive Narratives over Dialogue, and silencing questions from others.
This is not a reason to negate the negative of our history though.

If reform uk get in next election Britain is going to be in the exact same situation! We’ve got until next election to prevent us ‘doing a America’ luckily they’re massively unpopular with young people but Id be lying to imply I’m not at least a little frightened.

When I heard TACO vomit about musseums and also, how he captured some of our prestigious universities due to Anti-semitism claims, this quote from George Orwell's 1984 comes to mind: Who controls the Past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past!!

"Americans not talking about Hitler or nazi germany for 1 second " challenge: impossible.

Its crazy to me now the left and the right are so obsessed with Hitler that even the right wing boys and girls in germany are weirded out by it.

I think yall subconciously voted for Trump BC if yalls obsession with Hitler

Whats funny and disturbing to me is i dont see trump as an ideological fascist.

I think hes just power hungry and hes caught a fascistic fanbase and regime which he knows he can getl loyalty and power from if he plays into their wishes.

Is he racist and a mysoginist? Yes, but i dont see him as particularly ideologically driven to push a cause for its own sake.

I dont think he really believes in anything besides his own ego

American exceptionalism is American nationalism. Truly exceptional people prove it through their own acts, not by belittling or concealing the acts of others. It should be the highest honor to be considered critically and even then regarded as exemplary.

Yeah i can tell that leeja miller is out of her mind. She lables anything, and i mean LITTERALLY ANYTHING that the Republicans do is considered racist and fascist. Meanwhile democratic civilians are saying "death to america" while also commiting vandalism, stealing, looting and destroying business and private property in California, Philadelphia, and New York and calling it a "peacful protest" instead of Felonies. What a joke of a lawyer

History is not supposed to make you feel good. History is supposed to be uncomfortable. Its supposed to highlight the ills that we, as humans, have committed against other fellow humans, so that we are encouraged to not repeat those atrocities and ensure our survival and growth as a species and continue the growth and advancement of civilization. History teaches us that the human condition and they key to our continued survival and growth is cooperation and to not be sh!tty to one another. History is not supposed to make us proud. If you read a history book or walk out of a museum feeling good or swelling with national pride, then thats not history. Thats mythology.

So Trump just wants a theme park portrayal of US history, one deemed "fun for the entire family" (read: meets the approval of the bi-polar up-righteous Fundagelicals. Polite kind and spit and polish to their adoring fans and kindred spirits, but goes full pit bull when it comes to even mild disagreements with them).

Talking about history makes people feel ashamed and uncomfortable when it comes to certain aspects of their country?

But……. something about facts not caring about feelings……..

All totalitarianisms hate art, except of course that which serves their interests. Art is essentially free from all censorship and constraints. Art is a personal and individual expression of freedom. This is what bothers totalitarian regimes; they cannot tolerate a form of Art that challenges their dogmas. Those in favor of an imposed Order see in a certain form of Art the chaos they are fighting. But chaos, represented in certain artistic movements, is part of life and the universe; it is a fundamental component. Chaos and Order are two sides of the same coin.

Speech to text, 12:00 this idea that you have to be star-spangled in love with the United States and any criticism against it is on American is particularly hilarious because for four years during the Biden administration they basically bitched and moaned and complained nonstop about everything and it’s the same thing they do during every Democratic administrationto which my response is generally if you don’t like it, get the fuck out that’s your attitude right that’s what you always tell us so take your own advice and get the fuck out of the country. Do you think it’s that bad get the fuck out

Speech to text, oh so a white religious zealot who probably has more looks than brains not in like Alina Haba is buttering up Trump and using that relationship to find some valid, bigot provision of history, got it

I’ve been keeping a journal since Jan and I’ve read about 25 different non-fiction books this year. It’s not the only thing I’m doing to fight the rising tide of fascism but it’s a good thing to do. Everyone, keep fighting! Don’t let what is happening in DC happen in your city or state. And for those reading they aren’t American, keep democracy alive in your country. Point to us and tell your fellow citizens you do not want to become like us.

They want to erase the truth about American history and continue to diminish the significance and contributions of ADOS. All while reinstalling and rededicating confederate monuments. This administration does not want to progress, they just want to control what they want everyone to believe.
