The truth is, no one makes or does anything for no reason. Nothing is truly simple, mindless, or unworthy of serious consideration. Every action or phenomena has a reason and story behind it. A thing that makes it human and interesting. And perhaps the concept of memes deserves more credit in its unique value and insight into the modern, internet world.

I dunno bout art but i think memes could be a new way to think philopically. Take snail meme for exaple. It takes the subject of life death and escape from self. İts genius and is philosophy

You are only partly correct. While normie memes are very surface level and quick and easy to get, there are also memes with very very deep lore created that have infinite depth and great memeing.

I grew up in such a weird time. I was born in 2000, so I remember the world before YouTube, Facebook, etc. Before the internet was huge. But I also grew up with it as it grew up. It’s hard to connect with adults 10+ years older than me who are alien to internet humour and it’s crazy to think kids even 10 years younger than me don’t know a time without it. I truly am a strange hybrid and I love it.

But not all memes are a true art form. Meme is anything that catches up with the community. Like the 2+2-1=3 quick maths meme that makes no sense and is not relatable. Moreover, traditional art is something to be enjoyed, not something to keep up with like memes. People often use memes that I do not understand and I have to google it up. New memes are created every day and keeping up with it is like additional unwanted work. When other humans could communicate in simple language, instead they decide to communicate in cypher language which I need to google or keep up with every day.

Memes imo should be such that they can be understood by any person without any prior knowledge like the surprised Pikachu meme. Memes should not be like the 2+2-1=3 quick maths meme.

I feel like this is one of those videos I always knew I needed but never thought it existed.

It's s constant inner battle between me wanting/trying to appreciate memes for what they are and to find a purpose/utility, as far as our society goes and the feeling of numbness/blandness and just generally lacking that "mystique" feeling to them. I've simply never gotten to truly appreciate memes and I feel like I am missing out on something rather relevant, because of this.

If anybody would like to join the discussion with his/her/its ideas and/or opinions, feel free to do so

P.S: I'm loving this channel so far, it's a way of achieving insight I've never thought of
