I think Lingard will stay at West Ham! But cement this with a £25-30 buyout?

August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
The only way that jesse lingard can better himself is to come to the hame, but will Manchester United, let him go, there's is another way around it, is we offer declan rice, just to test the water or better still, just offer huge silly amounts of money to tempt man United, to sell lingard to west ham
@stevie5141
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
Had to happen.. wouldn’t surprise me if they offer him to us in exchange for Rice… that’s the real reason they probably let him go to us in the first place..😉

I THINK HE WILL SIGN FOR THE HAMMERS .I THE DRAW OF LONDON IS MORE THEN LIVERPOOL OR LEICESTER AT MAN U HE WILL NOT REPLACE BRUNO ,THE CONTRACT EXTENSION AT MAN U IS A PLOY TO GET A EXTRA 10 MILL for him

Brilliant Analysis Geo – hope he’s listening!

Is it a ploy just to push the price up?
@wigchop
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
Lingard won't be guaranteed first-team football at United. At his age, he needs to play week in week out!
@andywalsh1185
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
The question is will he sign the contract at Man U or will he let his contract run down , Jesse holds all the cards.
@agentsamson6051
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
I can't see Linguard staying with Man Utd. Several reasons for this. The first is that he is not a guaranteed starter. The second is that he is getting older now and needs regular football. Third is that if you are not playing regularly you don't make that England squad. Fourth reason is the feel good factor – he has it at the moment and is enjoying life and football agian. Fifth reason Jessie will be a big fish in a smaller pond at West Ham – at Man Utd a small fish in a big pond. At the end of the day it is not just about the money but it is actually achieving something. West Ham give him a chance to shine agian – let's hope he does not forget this!

Bruno and van der bake in front of him. He rides the bench + no England call ups again at 28. Or Manu sell and get money towards a no.9, cb or cdm.

Hard decisions maketh the man! Is he a man or still the boy.

August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
i'm sure man united only want more money ,because we all know he has no chance for united squad
@whufc-essex
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
Man U always offer new contracts so they can have more leverage for selling. All this means is he will cost us 20 million instead of 15
@hbwestham
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
We can afford to not buy Lingard, why do people think he is irreplacable, we were doing well before?
@spencermason5377
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
His price won't go up he could see out his contract then go for nothing
@davidknight8172
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
Jesse won’t want to go back to the team that almost made his mind up for him to pack up football for good.
@lesliedb7
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
Come on., It was never a buy option let’s be right 🙄🧐🙄

Fuck that I hope he kicks off and forces a move back to London

I'm surprised noone has been talking about this at all since he signed, until this report has come out.
the way he started against villa ment we were going to face a massive problem if he kept those performances up.
look how many times Ole has rested Fernandes this season and then needed him to come on, because De Beek and others haven't filled his shoes.
he can still be a useful weapon to United with or without Fernandes, and I wouldn't be surprised if lingard signs an extension with some guarantees of game time etc…
getting a loan with no obligation or option to buy is never a good idea.
hopefully Southgate is telling him to stay with us. that's our biggest hope.
@WhuEthan
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
lets be real , the only reaso hes being offered a new contract is cause they have realised he is worth a lot more than 20 mil so i reckon they are just gonna give him a new contract to keep his value up , so hopefully jesse realises this and stays with us
@johnhague6964
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
Do you think we may have overrated him a bit? Does he track back enough, does he work hard enough. Just asking?
@johnslater2424
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
It was always going to happen. Upping price also.

August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
Hope you enjoying the Scots sporting successes this week…… down to him…. I think he is really enjoying his football with us and game time… will he get that back in Manchester..no ,not with fernandes and fact they also want sancho from Dortmund…. the thing that may pull him back to Manchester is his family situation…. if he wants to come rather than sign a new contract and run risk of warming their bench then we sign him and I think Moyes will push for him as a key player for him moving forward…..and that is the acid test if the board are going to back Moyes in the summer over lingard and Moyes getting the striker he wants
@ianwestwood2991
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
I do hope he signs for us but am aware that we are still in that 'honeymoon' period where everything is going well. A few games without a goal, a few losses and failure to get to Europe may impact his views significantly. Regardless, losing Jessie would not be the end of the world. I believe Moyes will locate alternatives and I do hope we do not allow ourselves to chase the price to unreasonable levels. In short ….Great if he stays. We move on if he leaves.
@seanogoro6516
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
As a Man U fan pls take him. Not because he’s bad but he won’t get to play. U cannot bench Bruno so he will be benched. I love jlingz and for the betterment of his career he shud stay in london
@vernonharvey5657
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
Simple question for Jesse is if he wants to play football or take the money to sit on the bench a lot at his boyhood club. We are set piece FC without him, so our need to tie him down is obvious, but our club is not good at critical negotiations
@h_l_1701
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
Surely lingard won’t go back to man United. Why would he settle to be a squad player at United compared to a key man at West Ham.
@robwillis7570
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
Not sure why we didn’t sign Lingard instead of Benrahma then 🤷♂️ money must have been there and clearly a player Moyes wanted.
We’re making the same mistakes as before. Sign Benrahma for 25 mill who doesn’t exactly look comfortable on the left, now we’re potentially going to pay 30 mill for a player who is essentially going to make only position Benrahma can play…. the left….
So where is this 20/30 mill + decent money from a striker going to come from?
Our clubs transfer strategy is a bunch of nonsense and really is non existent.
I’m not expecting us to be like City or Chelsea spending money. However 2 key players a season to form a well rounded squad + loans or frees are needed.
This season coming should be 1 marquee striker and a quality central midfielder. That’s with a restricted budget.
Villa, Wolves, Everton, Leeds, Spurs probably Wolves will all add to their team/squad in the summer and we will be left behind again.
@philmcdonald7956
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
Man utd will want to have him on a new contract to strengthen their negotiating position so he isn't out of contract next year. Hope Jessie can see through that. Who does he trust to give him regular playing time? Let's examine the evidence…… listen to Southgate Jessie.
@shinygee8905

Something in our favour to consider is his agent situation. He dropped Mino Raiola last year and is now managed by his family who will obviously prioritise his happiness. they're not gonna promote a bidding war for a greater agents cut.

Where does this leave Benrahma????

I hate international breaks. I just can’t stand them. The weekend is so boring. What do people who don’t like football do. Honestly I’m looking forward to Monday 😂
@2009kall
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
Anyone who believes he will stay with us is living in cloud cuckoo land.
@2009kall
August 28, 2025 at 9:38 pm
I said from the off that he will not be with us at the end of the season
@MartinParnham
August 28, 2025 at 9:39 pm
He’ll be even further down the order at Mancs anyway as I can’t see them not strengthening in his position over the summer. Man Utd will want to keep Fernandes and I think that means they will want to sign work class players to try and persuade him to stay at the club.
@deancornwall2934

Bench him 🤷🏼♂️🤣 job done and we get him cheap

August 28, 2025 at 9:39 pm
Moyes mantra.
He wants hungry players….JL fits that bill.
@MartinParnham
August 28, 2025 at 9:39 pm
£30 million isn’t that much money these days.
@dangermouse6561
August 28, 2025 at 9:39 pm
The crux here is what JL wants.

Afternoon Geo, I think this will be down to Lingard if he says he wants to go to West Ham and says he's going nowhere else this puts Man United in a difficult position.
@80sgeezer65
August 28, 2025 at 9:39 pm
I don't think Lingard will stay at United as he will still be only a bench player and if he carries on being a bench player he won't get into the England squad
@cheddars2715
August 28, 2025 at 9:39 pm
i keep thinking if we offer 15 mil and say leciester offer 30 mil but jesse says i only want to go to west ham they will have to accept our offer. …bit like payet and arnotovic did to us…
@derekhammond8772
August 28, 2025 at 9:39 pm
Man U are chancing their arm to try and bump up the price in my view. Fair enough but we shouldn’t be held to ransom. Hopefully Lingard will make the right choice.⚒
